It looks like a packaging bug. The package descriptions say libwebkit is the

workaround.

It's dead simple: just disable/remove shr-today and bind AUX button to
 SimpleLock action in enlightenment config.

after opkg update opkg upgrade that damn slider is back. only this
time when running
# opkg remove shr-today , i get back
no packages removed.
same goes for -force-depends.

got to say im really annoyed at this screen and if you use an
alternate keyboard, like literki,
your phone will enlightenment crash every flippin time that screen

edit /etc/phonefsod.conf

and change
idle_screen = aux,lock

to
idle_screen =

(i think) if that doesn't work put back aux and it should only appear when you
press the aux button.

[QtMoko] NeronGPS no worky (was Re: [QtMoko] GPS navigation apps for QtMoko)

2009-12-19 Thread Brolin Empey
2009/12/16 Tony McKeehan mck...@rpi.edu

Yeah, NeronGPS is in the QtMoko feeds and all you need to install it is
a recent version of QtMoko and an internet connection.

Is QtMoko v14 sufficiently recent?

 It's native to
the Qt framework that QtMoko uses and doesn't need an X server. It has a
slightly different interface from Navit and tango, but it's pretty easy
 to get used to.

It also does not even run on my FreeRunner: every time I try running it
from the QtEI Applications list, I get a dialog saying:

*Application terminated*
*NeronGPS* was terminated due to application error.

Any ideas?

I do not have an answer for you, except to tell you I am a native English
speaker too and already use QtMoko (still using v14) as my primary
(cellular) phone. However, I am curious: are you related to Evangelene
Alaraj (nee Weatherill)? I noticed you used the Canadian/UK spelling of
“behaviour”, so I thought you may live in Canada too. I live in Delta,
British Columbia.

[SHR-U] Auto-Suspend problems

2009-12-19 Thread vancel35

I just installed the SHR images (kernel and rootfs) from December 4th, and I
also upgraded to Qi for my bootloader. I assume that Qi wouldn't cause my
problem, so that leaves the newest version of SHR.

The default suspend options are
auto-suspend: ON
suspend: 40s

I always give a larger timeout for suspend, because I like to actually be
done with my phone before it suspends on me. So I set it to about 5
minutes, and 30 seconds for the screen blank rather than 10.

The changes will not stick. I've changed them probably 20 times, and they
won't stay. I've even set the auto-suspend to OFF, but it keeps suspending.

After I messed with that for a while and decided to leave it alone, I was on
a phone call, and it suspended in the middle of the conversation. I thought
the call dropped, but when I pulled my phone away and the screen didn't wake
on touch, I hit the power button to un-suspend. Luckily my friend hadn't
hung up on me, and the call continued, but that seems a bit crazy.

Is there some reason that a freshly flashed phone won't save the power
settings and honor the auto-suspend switch?

Thanks for any info.

-Laura
