It may also be an option to configure DistCC for crosscompilation on your desktop. If you remove localhost from the list, everything will get compiled on your desktop and not on the freerunner. The difference is that you dont have to copy files and you can still use the USE flags. Hopefully :-) http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/cross-compiling-distcc.xml I hope i get gentoo running on my Freerunner, so i can test this soon greetings Andy ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

I know uboot from an other embedded system, where it was installed, and it is able to download a kernel from a tftp server to the memory. This is done by the "tftpboot" command. There is also a "dhcp" command so uboot can get an ip for the network. But i dont know if uboot can handle the usb as a network device. Someone has already tried this? I can only tell you the features i know for sure until now. known features of GTA04: - DBI (Direct Brain Interface) - trans warp gate projector - battery is replaced with a blackhole for infinite power - timemachine - build in stylus This will be a great new gadget! I hope this gets fixed in the stable branch now. My tweak link list grows every day. To OpenMoko.. is there a way to help you with the distribution? I don't like the idea of a personal repository for hotfixes like this, i think this should go directly to the official repo's. May be we can use git in a clever way to minimize the work you have with the integration of such changes. cheers -- Andreas Zuber Linux System-Ingenieur Puzzle ITC GmbH www.puzzle.ch Telefon +41 31 370 22 00 Direkt +41 31 370 22 49 Mobile +41 79 766 25 51 Fax +41 31 370 22 01 Puzzle ist Mitglied der Eclipse Foundation: <http://www.puzzle.ch/eclipse/> ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
Re: SanDisk micro SDHC 8GB card under testing
Does it also boots from the SD Card? I also have a 8GB SD Card and Linux was able to mount and use it. but uboot has some problems reading from the card. I dont know if this also happens with current uboot versions.. Am Donnerstag, 10. Dear Community There will be a Openmoko booth at the next Openexpo in Zürich. I'll be there, and this year i'll not walk away all the time like in Bern. And i also hope i get a smaller notebook for the Openexpo that fits on the table :-) Are there other people from the commuinity that may help informing the visitors about this greatest mobile phone of all mobile phones? gdm for the neo
Hi Some minutes ago i installed qtopia on the sd-card of my neo. Now i have a dual-boot mobile and that's really cool. There is also a method in the wiki where qtopia and openmoko use the same linux installation. But on both solutions you have to go to the uboot-menu to chose the "phone-desktop" i want to use. Now here is my idea. On the Desktop we have the gdm or kdm to switch the Desktop. Why do we don't make something similar for the mobile. There are also other things to do by such an application: * User Login (Multiuser-Phone) * Decrypt home-folder * Chose session (openmoko, qtopia, gpe) What do you think?
