Re: Context based usage of the 'AUX' button

For eg :- Good ideas, here is mine: if keyboard is active/shown it could be used to rotate through the several layouts. My thumb is laying on it most of the time I'm typing and layout switch is the slowest part on typing...e.g. numerical keyboard is preferred for numbers but (default) has no delete key. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Re: New List?
Am Mon, 28 Apr 2008 17:03:38 +0200 schrieb Dirk Deimeke [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Hi, just a question. Do you think that it makes sense to put the distribution questions to a new mailing list? What a great idea. Maybe I'm to uncommunicative but I'm tired of marking group order threads and what colour do i like questions as read. At least I found a missing feature in claws: mark folded threats read ;-) I think the wiki would be the best place to arrange group orders and form groups (which might exists after anyone got it's neo-- Steve's intention to spent some goodies?). The real buying process is neither done on the mailing list nor the wiki so there is no disadvantage. Re: Accelerometer brainstorming
Am Fri, 28 Mar 2008 19:09:14 +0100 schrieb Peter Kraker [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Unfortunately you need accurate speed to be able to get usable data from accelerometers for that. That's why some GPS modules have an interface for tachometer. May be the history of GPS could be used to approximate the speed. Of course, it's not accurate but when you assume facts like: * you have already slow down your vehicle before entering the tunnel * you will never accelerate in the tunnel * max tunnel length of 3km the variance should not be so huge. At least it's easier than connect the tachometer. The other question is: do you really need the correct position in the tunnel? If you know the position when the signal get lost and know that you are in that special tunnel it should be enough. Of course, it makes more sens in urban tunnels between huge buildings. Correct me if I'm wrong, don't know tunnels outside Europe. Christian ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Thing is: If you ship a container €70 is definitely not the price per device. You can help: motivate enough penguin people to buy a new phone and maybe some one will risk such order. If FIC could ship them to Czech (or Slovakia) with their in house post it might be easier to get a good price. Let's hope.
