[QtMoko] Translate into Norwegian

2010-10-06 Thread Rune Gangstø
Hi!
I would like to say that I have not had the time to translate anything
into norwegian. If there is someone that have more time to spare, I
would ask you to try ;-) I thought that I would have time for it, but
school is taking up too much of my time.

I can do some reviewing of the translating, but I do not think that I
will have enough time to do the translating my self.

Thanks.

Regards
Rune Gangstø

I could be interested in translating into norwegian, is it possible for
me to use the same files and just send them via e-mail when they are
translated?

 Hi,

The new version appears to work fine here (just a quick test so far).
BTW, my Ubuntu laptop (Xubuntu 9.10) exhibits a strange symptom: each
time I connect my FR, the network interface name increases:
eg. it started out with 'eth9' (what happened with usb0?), the next
time I connected the FR the interface was 'eth10', then 'eth11',
'eth12' and so on. What gives?

This is happening to me too. Ubuntu 10.04 and 9.10

  found a regression:
in v21 if you boot on battery and then attach usb, the
power profile is still on battery.

eg, if you have enabled suspend:
  - ssh connection will be paused because of std-by
  - recharge will be paused on std-by

btw if you go to power management you can manually disable
  suspend

   the same here.

Radek, I did the upgrade as you suggested (from v19 to v21)
without reflashing, and after some few shutdown device - power on
I realized that the system thinks that it is still on battery
when it is usb attached. So it suspends as Alfa21 also reports.

Re: Vibrating Pidgin alerts (new plugin)

2009-11-11 Thread Rune Gangstø
Nice work.

That will sure come in handy :D

2009/11/12 Joshua Judson Rosen roz...@geekspace.com

 Hi everybody,

I got bored the other night and hacked together a plugin for Pidgin
that allows the Neo's vibrator to be used as a notifier for various IM
events (such as incoming messages, buddy-logon, etc.); which
particular events do or don't trigger vibrating alerts is configurable
 via Pidgin's plugin-management GUI.

In case anyone else is interested, I've posted tarballs and a Bazaar
 archive on my website:

http://www.hackerposse.com/~rozzin/pidgin-vibr

It should also work with any other applications based on libpurple,
but I haven't tried it (while I like Finch on the desktop, it doesn't
seem to make much sense to run it on my FreeRunner ;)).

Is there a link for downloading QtExtended 4.4.3?

The links at http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Qt_Extended_4.4.3 is down.
Could someone supply me with the rootfs and kernel?

Thanks!

Re: My phone hangs. Like the best of them... :(

2009-07-23 Thread Rune Gangstø
I have had something similar, I think.
It might have been when the phone were suspended, and wakes up to notify me
about an incoming call or sms.
I am not sure it is about the same thing, but when I got these problems, it
just would not respond to touches. It still notified me about incoming
calls. I do not recall what distro i was using.

I suggest you to flash latest QI, gsm firmware, kernel and
shr-unstable if you are not sure you have them, and trying without the
 sd card.

Re: Reason for GPS problems found!

2008-07-15 Thread Rune Gangstø
Confirm.
I've got a fix in 41secs (TTFF 41)
Thanks for the great sharing :D

The bad thing is the SD card :S

2008/7/15 Marcus Bauer [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

Confirming this too. Under decent conditions first TTFF 130s, then after
a power down/power up it was ~40secs. Never saw it that fast on the
Neo1973. Excellent! Well, more or less :o)

 Hi ppl,

I write this to community, not to devel or owners because everyone
 should know:
sbeh, one of the people in #neo1973-germany IRC-channel found the
 reason for the GPS problems.
The problem only occurs if a SD card is set in. Doesn't matter if it's
mounted or in use, it just has to sit in the socket.
The TTFF went from no fix at all to TTFF 120 seconds indoor(!!!), and
 about 40 seconds outdoor.
Two other people could verify this with about the same results.
We'll do more tests later, but for now we surely know what's causing
the problem (and it seems to be a EMC problem).

First results show at the same devices, even outdoor, that there is no
fix in over 400 seconds with SD card, the signal seems to be at least
10 to 20 dB worse (so bad, that most satellites don't even appear).

 Testresults from other people appreciated.

Re: QEMU slooooow

I've noticed the same thing.
I haven't tried it for a long time, so I can't say if it's just some other
options in QEMU.
If anyone knows anything, please share with us.

2008/4/22, Tomas Gustavsson [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

I totally agree with you. I have tried OpenMoko several times through
QEMU but the waiting has been unreasonable long so the testing doesn't
 last very long...

As I have not really seen any comments in this regards, maybe there are

Re: Openmoko sounds, Motto

2008-04-21 Thread Rune Gangstø
Open source is more (or just Open is more) , was the first thing I
thougth about when I read this e-mail.
I think that a motto for openmoko should contain something about the
openness.

2008/4/21, ramsesoriginal [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

Following Michaels request for a homepage for the photos, I stumbled
 upon two simple questions:
 1) Do we have soem sort of motto (like Hello Moto, Connecting People,
 ...)
 2) Is there an official Openmoko sound set? Systems sounds, but maybe
even a specific song or something? This could also be useful for ads,
or for branding, and so on.

 Has anyone got some input?

Re: End User Input....and Question

2008-04-16 Thread Rune Gangstø
I'm a bit interested in buying this now, but I don't know if it's a good
idea.

How hard is it to upgrade software version yourself?
Is it like this version is complete, but software isn't? or is the hardware
to be changed when the end user version is ready?
