Thank you for sharing your great effor with the community!!

Hi there. I'm happy to announce wrdk, a development kit for the
 WikiReader.

wrdk is a pre-built toolchain, libraries, set of examples, and simple
serial loader that makes developing applications for the Openmoko
WikiReader a little bit easier. Included is fairly high level access
to most of the hardware including the file system, LCD, buttons, and
 touch screen.

The development cycle is pretty easy: write your app, build it, copy
it over to a SD card, and pick the icon off a menu to run it. The
serial loader, along with a modified WikiReader and custom cable,
speeds this up by letting you reset the device and load a new program
 straight from your desktop machine.

Binaries are available for Linux and Windows. See
  http://wrdk.seabright.co.nz/

 for more.

I'm tempted to offer a pre-modified WikiReader and download cable to
help those who aren't electronically inclined. Please contact me if
 you'd be interested.

[wikireader] error parsing automobile articles

2009-11-21 Thread Suco
I've experienced an error, consisting on data dissapeared, when reading
articles related with cars. You can test this looking for the article about
Nissan_GT-R, in the section Specifications:

What you can see in wikireader: http://yfrog.com/2sdsc0048xj
What appears on wikipedia article: http://yfrog.com/elscreenshot001mxp

Is this some kind of parsing error?

Re: [wikireader] error parsing automobile articles

2009-11-21 Thread Suco
Maybe the problem is in this file:
http://github.com/wikireader/wikireader/blob/master/host-tools/offline-renderer/mediawiki-offline/includes/diff/DifferenceEngine.php#L1921

I can only assume it's related to Wikipedia's convert function /
 markup / template.

If you click to edit the article you'll see it shows:

Production vehicles produce a manufacturer-claimed engine output of
 {{convert|474|bhp|kW|abbr=on}} at 6400nbsp;rpm and {{convert|434|lbft|
 N.m|abbr=on}} at 3200-5200nbsp;rpm.

If I look at the page in a browser and view source I can see this as:

Production vehicles produce a manufacturer-claimed engine output of
 474#160;bhp (353#160;kW) at 6400#160;rpm and 434#160;lb·ft
 (588#160;N·m) at 3200-5200#160;rpm.

Maybe it's related to the use of the #160;??

This shows in multiple places in the paragraph.

In your screenshot it's most obvious because the missing 474bhp makes
 the sentence nonsense.

But also it's missing from the first sentence: that reads as ... the
 VR38DETT engine, a DOHC V6, but should read as ... the VR38DETT
 engine, a 3,799 cc (3.8 L; 231.8 cu in) DOHC V6

 Stroller.

use a bug tracking system for reports like this?

The sheer volume of the community list makes it difficult to
follow. Developers are going to find comments related to some specific
issue much better from a bug tracking system.

Well, I've made some changes in main Makefile and the 00run.sh run without
problem, but the emulator still gives the same error.

The changes I've done:
...
.PHONY: farm0-parse
farm0-parse: parse

.PHONY: farm0-render
farm0-render: render

.PHONY: farm0-clean
farm0-clean: stamp-r-clean

.PHONY: farm0
farm0: farm0-parse farm0-render

Yes you will need to write your own file. If you look at what is being
executed in 00run.sh then it should be fairly obvious. Let us know if
 you get stuff.
