How did you install qad-keyboard, I am having the same problem.
 I manually
set the dns (with open dns) but it doesn't work; using th
 enumeric ip
address it works!

Where can you set this? I have changed my wirless to
an open network
just to get automatically connected without a password, and
although I
was connected to my wifi, none of the applications seemed to be
able to
connect to the internet.

Just installed.
Very easy and fast.
simple test results:
GSM works! audio call
good, I didn't test how the receiver hears my voice.

I tried it a few days ago:

Pros:
- I liked the installation. They package everything in a single

tarball that you expand on your SD card. Boot from the card, and it

installs QI, kernel, and root fs. No mucking about trying to figure
out
which kernel works with what release
- After the first time booting (which
will take a very long time. Let
it sit for a while), it boots fairly
quickly.
- UI is fast and responsive

Cons:
- Connectivity just isn't
there, at least for me. It would find my
open wifi, but kept dropping (even
when I was sitting right next to
the base station. Could not connect to my
service provider with any
sort of strength (ATT). I get full bars in SHR.

- It seemed to forget settings. I changed the ringtones, and it went
back
to the default

After not being able to use it as a phone, I went back to
SHR. In all,
a good start, and something I'll be keeping my eyes on

I never heard of this before. Anyone tried it yet? Is
this a cupcake
release (I just got used to the great soft keyboard in
android 1.5!)?

Is there somewhere a working/not working list available?

problem with the dns is due to the fact that when I reboot the freerunner the
dns property in the init.rc is override with the default value!

[QtExtended] how to import contacts

2009-04-16 Thread nar...@iol.it
Hi all,
I'm running qtextended improved as explained by Franky in the post
[QtExtended] Latest and greatest, progress mail 7; I need to import my
contacts (from vcf formats) in order to use it as a daily phone and to make
some test. I'm trying to use the addressbook command as reported in the
openmoko wiki but I got the following error:

/opt/Trolltech/Qtopia/bin/addressbook: error while loading shared libraries:
libqtopiaphone.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

any suggestiones?
Thanks

michele

before launching the addressbook command:

export
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/Trolltech/Qtopia/lib

Or, more for normal users:
copy
the vcf file into a subdir called /home/root/Documents (or
in
/media/card/Documents), start the Documents app and do a Rescan
system.
After that, the vcf file is visible and you can just click on
it from within
qtextended.
