Re: [Neovento-5.4] angle brackets I have, but apt-get did not.
The angle brackets were already in actually. Try the "123" button. Concerning the apt-get problem, maybe you should try another mirror. I recommend also to use the latest 5.6 image, as it was apt-get upgraded just yesterday. http://opensvn.csie.org/fyp/releases/5/neovento5.6_GTA02.jffs2 gpe-taskmanager is in and on AUX button (press >1sec) Fingertier is in. lxpanels are backgrounded. clare johnstone wrote: > > Hi, am now starting on version 5.4, a bit late... > I have found how to fix the keyboard to do the angle brackets: > editing .matchbox/keyboard.xml > > > > > > > and under G I put > > > So obvious when you once see it - being xml. > > BUT I have struck a problem, I can't do apt-get > it says: > > Temporary failure resolving 'ftp2.de.debian.org' > Failed to fetch > http://ftp2.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/less/less_429-2_armel.deb > Temporary failure resolving 'ftp2.de.debian.org' > > but it is not a resolving problem as ping can get there. > > debian-gta02:/etc# ping -c2 ftp2.de.debian.org > PING ftp2.de.debian.org (195.71.9.196): 56 data bytes > 64 bytes from 195.71.9.196: icmp_seq=0 ttl=44 time=399.997 ms > 64 bytes from 195.71.9.196: icmp_seq=1 ttl=44 time=407.846 ms > --- ftp2.de.debian.org ping statistics --- > 2 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 0% packet loss > > > Any thoughts - where do I start on that problem? > more another day, > thanks > clare > > ___ > Openmoko community mailing list > community@lists.openmoko.org > http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community > > -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/-Neovento-5.4--angle-brackets-I-have%2C-but-apt-get-did-not.-tp2969894p2970692.html Sent from the Openmoko Community mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

how are you connected to the internet? could be a firewall or something, that allows pings to pass through and blocks everything else. what does netstat -rn say, what ifconfig and what is in /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/network/interfaces ? ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

[Neovento-5.4] angle brackets I have, but apt-get did not.
Hi, am now starting on version 5.4, a bit late... I have found how to fix the keyboard to do the angle brackets: editing .matchbox/keyboard.xml and under G I put So obvious when you once see it - being xml. BUT I have struck a problem, I can't do apt-get it says: Temporary failure resolving 'ftp2.de.debian.org' Failed to fetch http://ftp2.de.debian.org/debian/pool/main/l/less/less_429-2_armel.deb Temporary failure resolving 'ftp2.de.debian.org' but it is not a resolving problem as ping can get there. debian-gta02:/etc# ping -c2 ftp2.de.debian.org PING ftp2.de.debian.org (195.71.9.196): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 195.71.9.196: icmp_seq=0 ttl=44 time=399.997 ms 64 bytes from 195.71.9.196: icmp_seq=1 ttl=44 time=407.846 ms --- ftp2.de.debian.org ping statistics --- 2 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 0% packet loss Any thoughts - where do I start on that problem? more another day, thanks clare ___ Openmoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
