Re: Neo1973 and Qtopia with GPS application
My image togehter with the kernel uImage can be downloaded from here: http://www.linuxtogo.org/~goxboxlive/Neo1973/images/ regards gxl I've got a problem with that image, the contents of my sd card must have been erased when I flashed the image and when i reupload the files to it they don't show up on the neo but ssh'ing shows they are there. Trying to mount the sd card says it doesn't recognise vfat as a filesystem, was the kernel compiled with vfat enabled? Can the sd card be formatted while in the neo? mkfs.ext3 says /media/card is not a block special device. and comes up with this error message when i proceed mkfs.ext3: Device size reported to be zero. Invalid partition specified, or partition table wasn't reread after running fdisk, due to a modified partition being busy and in use. You may need to reboot to re-read your partition table. ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Hi, i havent looked at the kernel defconfig, it thought it where a standard one. I am using the stock one in OE repo. Is there any diffrents in angstrom and openmoko kernel defconfig, shouldnt be that? About the vfat module i have no idea, i havent checked if my sd card is viewable or not, but as long as you can access it from shh you should also be able to acess it from Qtopia. I've been briefly thinking about the Neo1973's internal GPS antenna and looking at some photos: http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Image:Gta01b_v3_case_top_open_pcb_lifted.jpg If the grey cable with the U.fl/Hirose connector plugged in next to the sim holder is for the internal antenna, then the antenna itself would be located in the top of the phone, orientated straight out the top? If this is correct, the GPS is going to work best when the phone is stood straight up rather than lying on its back? Thanks for all you guys that worked on this. GoXbox Live wrote: Hi. I have made a Qtopia image for the Neo1973. The image is quite same as the ones Lorn Potter releases, but mine has added two gps applications. I have made a couple of screenies here: http://www.linuxtogo.org/~goxboxlive/Neo1973/screenshots/RoadGPS.jpg and http://www.linuxtogo.org/~goxboxlive/Neo1973/screenshots/Roadmap-1.jpg http://www.linuxtogo.org/~goxboxlive/Neo1973/screenshots/Roadmap-1.jpg To have this running you have to install gllin yourself, i cant include that because of the restrictions with distribution. Get gllin from here: http://3rdparty.downloads.openmoko.org/gllin/ http://3rdparty.downloads.openmoko.org/gllin/ and install it. The image uses ngstm 2008 base linux system and suplied with kernel 2.6.23.1 http://2.6.23.1 How it works. Just hit Roadmap or RoadGPS under applications. It will start gllin automaticly (remember to install it first). When you are done playing with the gps applications and to save battery remember to stop gllin from running by hitting Kill Glin under applications. To get maps for Roadmap read their web site: http://sourceforge.net/projects/roadmap/ My image togehter with the kernel uImage can be downloaded from here: http://www.linuxtogo.org/~goxboxlive/Neo1973/images/ http://www.linuxtogo.org/~goxboxlive/Neo1973/images/ regards gxl ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community -- Kai Winter Frauenlobstr. 18 55118 Mainz Mobil: 0179/9077008 ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community

Mine has been sitting outside on the roof of my car under the open sky for the last hour without locking at all. I constantly get the A1 and have never seen the A3 to indicate that my gps has locked. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. ___ OpenMoko community mailing list community@lists.openmoko.org http://lists.openmoko.org/mailman/listinfo/community
