Re: QtMoko v54 - Some issues on GTA02

2013-03-18 Thread urodelo

I'm experimenting different issues with latest qtmoko for gta02.

When I charge it and then untouch the cable, the orange led does never
turn off, and the battery icon is shown like it's still charging. More
stranfge, when i reboot it, still I experiment the same behaviour, even
without trying to charge it.

This causes high battery consumption

I've update qtmoko with apt.

I don't remember if they are known issues for v54, but for now I'm

- the same problem reported above with the media player;
- random sound loss, I notice it after a suspend when I receive a sms, a

Hmm it looks that new gstreamer engine is not working as it should. It's quite
strange, because on GTA04 it works quite ok.

We can easily switch back to old cruxus engine or we can try find where is
problem. I think it will be best to rebuild with cruxus for now and try to
find fix for gstreamer later...

QtMoko v54 - Some issues on GTA02

2013-03-17 Thread Matteo Zaffonato
I'm Matteo and I'm the owner of a GTA02. I updated Qtmoko on my phone
yesterday using the Flash method. Everything was ok and there weren't any
errors.

When I booted up the phone there were two issues:
- When a call is received there is no ringtone, even if the profile is set
on General. I tried to install codecs from the website of Qtmoko but the
problem persists. Also the Media Player is not ok. I tried to install
mplayer and I was able to listen to a MP3 file.
- When I ran the command apt-get upgrade the upgrade software stopped to
run on setup of libjpegopen (it looks like frozen after 30 mins, but I was
able to stop it).

Can somebody help me? I use the GTA02 as daily phone and it is problematic
not to hear an incoming call.

Hi,
i will try to reproduce it on my GTA02. Are you using the default ringtone?
Maybe you can try experimenting with other ringtone - if it plays in media
player it should work also as ringtone. Btw there the older v48 is available
[1] if needed.

 - When I ran the command apt-get upgrade the upgrade software stopped to
run on setup of libjpegopen (it looks like frozen after 30 mins, but I was

I wonder if there is some space left on the NAND. You can check it in system
info or with df command.

Can somebody help me? I use the GTA02 as daily phone and it is problematic

I think you can use v48 until we reproduce and fix it.

Hi,
it should work out of the box in v54. You can try youtube.com/html5, enter
html5 trial and search for QtMoko - that's how i tested. Video is damn slow -
it's more like slideshow, but audio should be usable. Btw for youtube there is
nice app called minitube that can play download videos.

Is the gta02 video acceleration code for mplayer from 2008 not yet

QtMoko can use glamo enabled mplayer - but it cant do fullscreen video
anyways, so SW/HW acceleration makes nearly no difference.

Btw QtMoko uses gstreamer, so it's matter of adding glamo support to
gstreamer.

I tried to upgrade, and it seemed to go smoothly except for the upgrade
of the mokofaen theme. apt-get upgrade tried to download it form
qtmoko.sourceforge.org/./mokofaen-something, while it probably should
have downloaded from qtmoko.sourceforge.org/apps/mokofaen-something. So
it's just a misconfiguration in the urls apt-get uses. apt-get upgrade
--fix-missing skipped the installation of the mokofaen-theme, which I
installed from the apps-website afterwards.
/etc/default/gpsd was already configured the proper way, but that may be
due to an version i previously installed to use navit.

QtMoko v54

2013-03-07 Thread Radek Polak
Hi,
i am happy to anounce QtMoko v54 - this time just for Freerunner. I have
finally fixed GSM network registration bug so we have now Freerunner release
with all the nice things that were only for GTA04 previously. The release
tarbal and ubifs images are available here [1], for more info visit our
homepage [2]

Changes since v48:

* ogg content plugin now works (Neil Jerram)
* faster videos
* swapped colors in videos now really fixed
* debian package improvements (Gilles Filippini)
* upgrade to qt 4.8.3
* support for html5 video in browsers
* enable typing in the To field, when sending an email (Neil Jerram)
* avoid QString::arg: Argument missing logs (Neil Jerram)
* position is now showing in media player (Neil Jerram)
* fixed qwslock log warnings (Neil Jerram)
* have libQtScript and libQtDeclarative installed by qbuild (Gilles Filippini)
* media player uses accelerometers for rotation
* fixed wifi ap to not move around during rescan
* qtmoko apt repo keys are installed by default
* DISPLAY is no longer set in qpe.env to not confuse pulseaudio (Neil Jerram)
* phonon is now built and can be used by applications
* phonon has fix for swapped colors
* QSplitter class is compiled for better compat with existing apps
* rotate helper is now part of accelerometer library
* fixed Draft message instead of sender in SMS (Neil Jerram Radek Polak)
* fixed status to be uint64 in mail app db
* fixed invisible text parts in qterminal
* qui utility to show QtMoko message boxes from shell
* gps uses gpsd and gpspipe (Neil Jerram)
* qx - fix setting of DISPLAY variable (Neil Jerram)
* qx - fix Xfbdev invocation (Neil Jerram)
* gps satellites should work again
* updated mokofaen theme (Joif)

I havent tested the release very much, but i hope it is quite ok. I have
noticed that audio stops after few seconds in media player, so you have to use
qmplayer for now. Maybe this can be solved by installing different gstreamer
plugin for mp3 instead of fluendo.

If you want to upgrade (also untested), you'll have to configure gpsd after
upgrade to make gps working. Edit /etc/default/gpsd and set
DEVICES=/dev/ttySAC1

Thanks everyone who helped with this release!

Cheers

Radek

What about adding a qtmoko_apt_sources.deb package, distributing a

I mostly though about the qtmoko specific URLs. It probably won't change in
near future, but... who know... it already happen and Sourceforge is also
subject to changes (they are currently moving to the new Allura project).
