How to determine the event/device (alarm/incoming call/sms/power button
etc.) that resumed a suspended Freerunner?

 http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/GTA02_sysfs#Resume_Reason

Great!
I was searching without success for a general way to achieve this on others
platform too.
This is enough for me to ignore the next power button event if freerunner
resume from the power button itself.
Thank you very much!

Will do, the only problem is that I don't know how to suspend/resume in
2007.2. Wasn't it a terminal command, or something to that effect?

apm -s

Between attempts did you erase and reflash both the kernel and rootfs as
well as remove all power
for 30seconds (battery and usb) to completely reset the phone?

Re: Re: Suspend/Resume Issue: Possible Hardware Problem?

2008-08-16 Thread Robert Bieber
The problem isn't just occurring in 2008.8, the same happens in FSO and
Qtopia. If it were a software issue, it would seem that reflashing
would at least have it working as long as it worked in the first place,
but I now have no ability to come out of suspend at all, even after
flashing the phone (and I've now tried removing the battery for 30
seconds as well). Could it possibly be an issue with uBoot? That's the
only piece of software I haven't reflashed yet...

FSO, 2008.8 and to some extent qtopia share a lot of code. Try 2007.2

On Qtopia SMS do not wake up my phone. I haven't noticed that SMS is
broken completely after resume, but SMS that were send to me during
suspend I often received hours later. That was probably then, when I
rebooted the device. So I guess I can confirm SMS is broken after
resume.

Well, mine does wake up most of the times when I get a call, not always.
There appears to be a bug. It does not resume reliably always. But sometimes
I've seen it resume after a very long time. Most of the times I need
to reboot the
phone to get it back.

Also, after resuming from a suspend, my FR tells me that my battery is

Wait for sometime after the resume, for the battery status to be reported
correctly. There's probably a bug with reading the battery status right after
resume.

The battery status does eventually (usually) report correctly after a
while. However, I'm having a trouble getting SMS to work correctly
after a suspend. This appears to also happen on Qtopia, so I'm
wondering if it's a kernel issue?
