[Compiz] [Bug 1349152] Re: Enhanced Zoom Desktop does not zoom In/Out when mouse is over a windows without focus

2015-05-02 Thread Luis González
This bug seems to be fixed in Compiz 0.9.11.3.

If you're using Ubuntu 14.04 or Linux Mint 17, you only need to perform
apt-get upgrade and that version will be installed. I don't know about
previous versions.

[Compiz] [Bug 1451092] [NEW] Keyboard direction keys acting weird

2015-05-02 Thread Varun Mittal
Public bug reported:

Ok

So I started a discussion on Ubuntu forums
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2269986
and it eventually boiled down to not using Compiz as a workaround.

The issue:
I am using Ubuntu 14.04 on Thinkpad T420

One fine day the arrow keys(basically the up/down) just stopped working in many
applications.
I works fine in editors etc., but if anywhere the field is active it won't work.

By active I mean, if the field starts giving dropdown options when you type
like browser address bars, my email client address box, facebook search, gmail
mail composition area etc.
It acts weird in following ways:
- It just lets me type a couple of characters and then won't take any more input
- In the address bar, it won't let me choose an address shown in drop down by
pressing up/down arrow key
- In gmail mail composition area, the cursor just goes frenzy jumping back and
forth

I have to write stuff in editor and then copy paste.
However, the mouse works fine.

I am using gnome-flashback with metacity as a workaround.
But I a missing Compiz badly.

Please let me know if you need any diagnostic data or want me to try out
something.
