I updated to the latest compiz (see below). The problem is still occuring but less often than before. Thanks for reporting these problems. It appears you are running an older version of Compiz on your computer. I recommend you update your 14.04 LTS to pick up all the bug fixes that have been released. Using the Dash you can start the Software Updater application. Click on Settings... > Updates and make sure the "Recommended updates (trusty- updates)" is checked. Follow the dialogs and choose the options to update your system. The current version of Compiz in trusty-updates is 1:0.9.11.3+14.04.20150122-0ubuntu1 and we believe it may already contain fixes for the problems you have described.
