[computer-go] stoTest 19x19
stoTest is a (most certainly buggy) Amaf monteCarlo bot. The main features is that it doesn't use the notion of eye. (it only use captures rules). So basically, it plays a random number of moves, and score the result. The scoring being each stone gives a point to the owner, and the empty point surrounded by one color gives one point to this color. test01 used winning percentage for the first three game, then i switched to average score. Surprisingly it managed to win some games on 19x19. (against weakest bots for sure). _ Windows 7 à 35€ pour les étudiants ! http://www.windows-7-pour-les-etudiants.com___ computer-go mailing list computer-go@computer-go.org http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/
Re: [computer-go] KCC won the 3rd UEC Cup
Crazy Stone (CS) lost the first game due to a wrong ko setting. The opponent of CS played a superko violation which was legal under Japanese rules, and CS lost the game by a faul. The most devastating indictment against japanese rules I've seen so far. Stefan ___ computer-go mailing list computer-go@computer-go.org http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/

Well, I suppose this is a lesson that every computer-Go programmer learns one day or another: always have a way to accept any move, no matter whether your bot thinks it's legal or not. I don't see how this is an indictment, the rules are what they are. For every player. It's not as if this was a little-known issue with Japanese rules.
