Re: [computer-go] komi for 9 by 9 will always be 7.5 right?
I never say never, but let's just say it's extremely unlikely. There has been some talk about what is the correct komi. If the correct komi is 8.0 I would leave it at 7.5.If the correct komi is 7.0 I would leave it at 7.5. If anyone can convince me the correct komi is 9.0, I would change it to 8.5. - Don George Dahl wrote: I just wanted to confirm that there are no plans for changing the komi on CGOS to anything but 7.5 ever. I just started a 7400 cpu-hour computation to generate training data for my Go bot and it is inextricably linked to the komi, I will have to regenerate training data (and then retrain) my bot if I want it to play properly with any other komi (and of course boardsize). - George ___ computer-go mailing list computer-go@computer-go.org http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/ ___ computer-go mailing list computer-go@computer-go.org http://www.computer-go.org/mailman/listinfo/computer-go/

I'd be very surprised if anyone was in a position to make a guarantee about komi. There have been some many differing views for so long on the issue... cheers stuart On Tue, May 27, 2008 at 4:00 PM, George Dahl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I just wanted to confirm that there are no plans for changing the komi > on CGOS to anything but 7.5 ever.
