[CGUYS] CNN P2P installation

2009-02-05 Thread Chris Dunford
If you used CNN's live feed to watch any of the inauguration on your PC or
Mac, CNN probably installed (with your not-so-informed permission) a P2P
package called Octoshape, and your machine was used to feed the video to
others.

Re: [CGUYS] Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo Mk 2 data transfer speed ?

2009-02-05 Thread mike
I googled the topic and the first hit was the computerguys list and your
post...heh

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/550382-REG/Sony_MSMT2G_2GB_Memory_Stick_PRO.html

That one was the second. Theoretical only...real world may vary.

It is supposed to be fast but I'd like to know how fast so I could
consider buying a Lexar or Sandisk Memory Stick of the same R/W capability
 instead.

 Anyone know?

2009-02-05 Thread db
Fancy that! ... and also the coincidence that I was considering buying
the memory from BHphoto.

20MB/s I guess equals 133x so that is what I need to look for in a
alternative brand memory stick. Thanks.

Not to worry Tom, I'm sure that Obama will soon appoint an economy

We can't have money wandering around the economy with no purpose, now
can we? People might blow their paychecks on pedicures or baby
strollers or power tools and god knows that won't be of any help.

People just need to be shown that what they need or want to spend
their money on isn't how their betters think it should be spent.
There are faddish special interests, under-stimulated constituents
back home and well-connected donors that need our pork-laden help!

Re: [CGUYS] Sony Memory Stick Pro Duo Mk 2 data transfer speed ?

2009-02-05 Thread Brian Jones
Answer: 32 Mbps write speed... It seems that this has been designed for
higher R/W speeds than earlier Memory Sticks.

http://www.memoryxflash.com/msproduo8gb.html

Check out this animal: A flash drive with USB2 on one end, and eSATA on
the other! Max speed: 3Gbps!
I could not help but notice that the ads mention 'connectivity speed' and
not R/W speed.

If people are in need people are in need. It does not matter the

People are in need in Gaze. I do not agree with Hamas either but there
are tons of folks there that are in need.
