conform to the EU dictates

Watch your language and tone down the propaganda please!

These are democratically elected governments working to protect their
citizens from the ravages of a predatory monopolist. They do not
dictate they enforce the laws.

It's suspected this is being done to head off the anti-trust pinheads in
the EU.

I'm sure Madoff thought the regulators at the SEC were pinheads too. MS
was found guilty in US Federal court and necessary remedies were squashed
by an administration that preferred illegitimate profits over law and
order. The governments of the EU did for follow this same corrupt path.
They are not pinheads they are heroes.

If the US had not been run by corrupt leaders for the last 8 years the
current economic crash would not have happened. We are now suffering the
consequences of their malfeasance.

The first US depression did not occur until after the government
started meddling in the economy. Look it up.

All governments are corrupt by their nature - that is why we need to
keep them small.

No, they are appointed bureaucrats, with their own transparent,
authoritarian agenda.

Do you honestly think that public elections are held for the European
Commission of the EU?

I'm sure Madoff thought the regulators at the SEC were pinheads too.

O...scary strawman!!! Rrrraaarrgh!!!

Actually, I'll bet that he did. They ignored him for years as he literally
swindled billions of dollars from people.

And this has to do with anti-trust theory how, exactly?

Right, it doesn't. Thanks for playing.

Ever hear of the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia? U.S.

No? That explains a lot.

The governments of the EU did for follow this same corrupt path.

All hail their cunning bravery in the face of Windows Media Player! What an
unstoppable monster!

We owe them a debt of gratitude, as they made the world a safer place for

At least you and I agree on that. Had the state not manipulated and
interfered with a well-functioning market with perverse and distortive
incentives, we'd all likely be better off today. Too bad you can't keep
connecting the dots when it comes to the futility of software development by
judicial decree.

Next you will be calliing them Old Europe. Why are you so terrified of
government of the people, by the people, and for the people? The
oligarchs you support have brought us nothing but ruin.

Even sports teams have referees. You have no proof that lawless anarchy
will magically bring us paradise and current events amply demonstrate the
ruination that laissez faire brings.

Look up her history with the Bush administration. I have watched her be
their go-to judge whenever dirty work needed to be done. Look who handed
out all those FISA warrents like they were Mardi Gras beads.

You preach laissez faire when it benefits the oligarchs and then praise
judges who foster opressive rule over the people.

Ah, I see you're from the school of no failure capitalism. It's always
supposed to be spring flowers and playful puppies.

Here's a news flash, chief: even with a completely free market, failure is
a feature, not a bug.

You preach laissez faire when it benefits the oligarchs and then praise
judges who foster opressive rule over the people.

No, I advocate free markets because it benefits everyone overall, even
oligarchs. Again, that's a feature, not a bug.

As to the latter, you're just arguing with the Jeff in your head.

 My initial post was
intended to raise a warning that you were seeding your posts with

Oh, there's appropriate politically-charged language on the list now?
You'll let us know what ideas are acceptable to you and which aren't, won't
you Herr Doctor? Just post a list of all the bad thoughts on the CGUYS
page.

It was really a throw-away line with no hook, but you saw one anyway. The
EU has just gotten very silly with its clumsy attempts at micromanaging
markets. I'll withhold judgment as to your silliness.
