I was recently installing Trend Micro's AV for a customer when an error
occurred. When tried to uninstall to start over, there was no uninstall
routine available. So I re-ran the install and got more errors
(different from the prior time). I repeated the cycle and it continued
to get worse. When I went to their website and knowledge base, it was
difficult to find the instructions for a manual uninstall, and the
instructions I found did not work.. it still would not install
correctly. Finally, (for times sake) I convinced the customer to use
Avast Home instead.
I have encountered Trend in reviews and at some business sites; the
reviews were always good, the businesses did not have any issues with
the protection. I don't know why I had this problem, and don't care
enough to pursue it, nor to recommend it.
