Yes, good news, I'd taken my eyes of this for a few months so missed the
phoenix rising.

I'll keep eyes on it and hope we can got for 3.11.1 (or 2?) before long.

It'll be a shame to loose it, especially as I did all the SM2 stuff!

3.10.0 has not had a good time.

Lots of reports of extraneous noise in the logs and emails.

I've switched back to 3.9. Suggest we do not release this.

Also the main maintainer has basically said he is not continuing (he was only
treading water anyway).

I've looked for an alternative, https://github.com/leamas/ddupdate might be
one, although it has been in beta for a long time and no real activity since
february 23!

Actually I'd rather this was not released.

It really looks as though the new version of ddclient (3.10) is broken in some
areas, and cannot be relied on to work in the reliable way that 3.9 did. In
particular some people are finding that they need to use "curl" to stay stable
(inc me), and some need to use the socket implementation (which is the
default), and some issues with the cached previous results.

I suspect that we are witnessing the slow decline and fall of ddclient.

I'm looking at an alternative "ddupdate":

https://github.com/leamas/ddupdate

I'll open a bug about it.

Actually I was wrong, this rpm is still in smetest, and we still have some
unresolved issues with warnings in the logs. I have posted to the ddclient
github issues list, but not yet got much response, except another confirming it
happens.

I have also seen similar things. I suspect that the dyndns service may have
some sort of front end like failtoban which rejects a second call as abusive.

I'll ask on the github forum, although things are not very active on there.

Not sure brian :-) BUT, as the IP check is returning a FAIL of one of the
domains, the mail-failure=admin setting in the *.conf file is firing, and I get
the status update as shown, this is not right as the two domains are at same
place dyndns, if the first check is good other domain should also return good,
it does not..

Have tried removong second domain and all good..so its just with multi domain
checks

Of course simple fix is disable the mail-failure=admin setting, but I do prefer
to be notofied when and update is not good..
