[Cooker] oops.

2003-02-09 Thread Damian Gatabria

I mistakenly uploaded isdn4k packages to ftp.linux-mandrake.com
files are:

isdn4k-utils-3.1-1.pre1.11mdk.i586.rpm
libisdn4k-utils2-3.1-1.pre1.11mdk.i586.rpm
libisdn4k-utils2-devel-3.1-1.pre1.11mdk.i586.rpm

Please disregard them as i forgot to add one final patch.
sorry.

I don't want Windows to be only for the 31173. Yes, we've come a long way from
all those security holes, virii, and cryptic commands like Edit textfile.txt

[Cooker] oops - rc3 no video test in install or mcc

2002-09-21 Thread sean

i have found both with rc2 and now rc3 that when
configuring the video for a mach64 card with xfree86
3.3.6 (either in the install (expert install) or thru
mcc), i am not given the option to test the
configuration. just in case - i am setting up as
1280x1024@60hz/16bpp. once with rc2 i selected xfree86
4.2 and i was given the option to test.
thanks, -sean

Re: [Cooker] Oops! I think it is not xmms' fault...

I never got a changelog for this version (most recent I have is

plays mp3s, but skipps from time to time. Probably once per

certain that it is xmms, it may be the sound subsystem itself my
system has onboard sound: C-Media CM8738

kernel ver. is 2.4.17-12mdkenterprise

I haven't installed -13mdk* yet. I am not sure how to diagnose,
but if someone provides instruction, I will follow them. I have
not seen anything reflecting this problem in the kernel messages
(at least not the ones on would be vc/12)

I can absolve xmms at this point.

I retrograded to xmms-1.2.6-0.pre1.2mdk an still have the same
symtoms. So it may be the fault of the kernel sound support, or
due to the level of support for the c-media CM8738. Pointers
accepted with enthusiasm!

OK, I don't have the same hd.img, but another one let me install cooker
from a floppy : it worked pretty well, except that sound is gone (sound
works or not depending of the different cooker updates).

I get ** WARNING **: oss_open(): Failed to open audio device (/dev/dsp)
permission denied
With root the sound is always ok, mixer included.

My id gives :

uid=501(pascal) gid=100(users)
groupes=100(users),22(cdrom),80(cdwriter),81(audio),105(urpmi),502(xgrp)

= I am in audio group

and :

ls -l /dev/dsp
crw-r-1 root audio 14, 3 aoû 23 04:37 /dev/dsp

If I do

chmod g+w /dev/dsp

The sound is back for ordinary users. Isn't there something wrong in
default perms set up during Mandrake install ?

Done. Still gets the same problem after

[Cooker] Oops, cancel that (re: XEmacs missing TTY support?)

2000-09-09 Thread Gary Lawrence Murphy

My mistake: In a naive attempt to get MSDOS CR/LF auto-translation I had
installed Xemacs-mule over top of the standard xemacs package, and the
mule package is the one missing TTY support (for good reason).

So now the question becomes, how do I add MSDOS CR/LF support to XEmacs
without Mule support?
