Re: [CnD] Spices
Slices of what? How long something lasts depends on what it is and how it's packaged. If you talked about slices of anything before I must have missed or forgotten the message. Re: [CnD] spices
I have a terrific spice rack that revolves and holds 12 spice jars on each of 4 sides. I have brailled the top of each jar (also labeled in print for the cooks in my family who are not blind. I keep meaning to rearrange the bottles so that spices that tend to be used together are placed near one another, but somehow I never seem to find the time to do this. Re: [CnD] spices
I alphabetize them. If I'm labeling jars, I put the braille near top of the jars. If I'm using Tupperware spice containers, I try to label the sides with the beginning letter uppermost. Nutmeg would look like this: n u t m e g I hope that makes some kind of sense. I'm lousy at description! Re: [CnD] spices
I read braille with my left hand as far as spices are concerned, so I stick the labels so that I can read them from the top of the bottle toward the bottom with the left hand. --- Be positive!
