Do I need to purchase one of the aforementioned, as all I have is an iphone?

I clicked on the link that was sent in the previous message and the third or 
fourth item down is a thermometer that checks the ambient temperature. It will 
let you know the minimum and maximum temperature you said it too. Hope that
