Re: [CoTyroneMailingList] Bob the Protestant Horse.

2020-06-30 Thread Bill And Chris Scarrow via CoTyroneList
The Irish Country Doctor series is definitely enjoyable and a feel good series
and I’ve put “Bob” on my reading list...

On, perhaps, another (depressing) note...is a series of three books written by
Charles Eagan on the great Irish famine
1. The Killing Snows
2. The Exile Breed
3. Cold is the Dawn

Excellent historical fiction.

[CoTyroneMailingList] Irish burial grounds

2020-05-06 Thread Bill And Chris Scarrow via CoTyroneList
When wandering Forthill old cemetery in Cookstown, County Tyrone, in 2016 . I
came across a grave marker for a Great Uncle, his wife and several children.
Little did I know, until this week, that there were actually thirteen family
members buried in the double plot.
Without knowing it I standing at the graves of my 2x GGrandmother and
GGrandparents among others. I am unsure if this is a common practice in
Ireland, but, I would suggest never giving up and using all available
resources in your search for your buried ancestors.

[CoTyroneMailingList] Digest Mode

2019-01-30 Thread Bill And Chris Scarrow via CoTyroneList
Hello Jim,

( from the other side of the Bay)
I, too, am unable to figure out how to change subscription to Digest Mode.
If you would do that for me...it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks to all those who work so hard to make this such a great site and
resource.

Kind Regards,
Chris
