Hi,
I am working on an install of courier-imap 1.4.4 on a Red Hat Linux 7.2 (kernel 2.4.9)
system running Exim 4.02. I am unable to get my Eudora or any other clients to
authenticate through PAM. The test results are below:
[root@neuron4 authlib]# ./authtest -s imap -m authpam gary mypassword
Authentication FAILED!
[root@neuron4 authlib]# ./authtest -s imap gary mypassword
Authenticated: module authdaemon
Home directory: /home/staff/gary
UID/GID: 500/500
AUTHADDR=gary
AUTHFULLNAME=Gary
I noted that someone else had a similar problem, but I did not see a solution posted.
The one wrinkle with my configuration is the user maildirs are located at another
mountpoint with symlinks from the user home dir to the user maildir, e.g.:
maildir - /mailroot/mbx/gary/maildir
Is there any reason why this would be an issue? I see no errors in /var/log/messages,
and only that LOGIN FAILED in /var/log/maillog.
Any suggested points to start looking would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Gary.
