[courier-users] Webmail Password Change Redhat 7.3

2003-01-14 Thread Marcos Barrera
Has anyone gotten webmail password change to work with redhat 7.3?

Here's my current status.

Redhat 7.3
Courier-0.40.0.20021026-1.7.3
expect-5.32.2-67

I have another server running the current version of courier on redhat 8.0
and the password change works as long as you give a password that doesn't
pop back the dictionary error or short password error. But no password I
use works via the 7.3 webmail interface.

I've disabled the dictionary checks and password length checks on the 7.3
server so when I put in 'pleasework' as the password at the terminal it
doesn't give me any errors but still during the webmail change password it
won't change.

Authsystem.passwd is the exact same on both systems.

So I'm curious if anyone has been able to get this particular part to work
on a 7.3 box and what it entailed.

Do I have to update to the latest version of courier and if so what has
changed?

Did you update your expect?

Is there a bug in passwd or sometype of timeout issues?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Marcos

[courier-users] expect password changing and redhat

2003-01-09 Thread Marcos Barrera
Has anyone had any difficulty with the sqwebmail interface and allowing
users to change their passwords? I had courier 0.39.3 on Redhat 7.3 and it
seemed to be working but then all of a sudden... poof. broken. I rebuilt up
to 0.40.0.20021026 and still it wont allow people to change their passwords
from the web interface it gives a large red message saying:

ERROR: Unable to change password. Possible reasons why you cannot change
the password are:

You did not enter the old password correctly

You did not enter the new password twice correctly

Your new password is too short, or is based on a dictionary word, and
short/dictionary-based passwords are not allowed

Your new password is the same as one or more previous passwords, or the
minimum time between password changes has not yet elapsed

I've checked all the logs and I can't find an error to save my life.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I think it may be in the way expect
is trying to change the password but I mucked about with authsystem.passwd a
bunch of different ways trying to see if I could get it to click. But to no
avail.

I know this has got to work... maybe I'm dense... I think the
electromagnatism is getting to me... if anyone has got any ideas or if
anyone has had similar issues... just let a brotha know.

Marcos I think staring at this monitor gave me x-ray vision Barrera
