I use this functionality myself, and I'm using courier with LDAP
authentication for multiple (hosted) domains.

Hmm... It doesn't work for me. Did you create 'alias' account as usual
one? I've created ldap entry [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and tested it:
 .
250 Ok.
RCPT TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
250 Ok.
RCPT TO: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
550 User unknown

Could you please point me to document and source code where this feature
is described or implemented? Is it feature of courierldapaliasd
or esmptd?

[courier-users] Default account and LDAP authentication

2002-06-21 Thread Vladimir Goncharov

Hi,

Some customer asks me to forward e-mails with unknown addresses to
default account ( postmaster, for example).
i.e. if user bob exists, then e-mail would be delivered to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] should be delivered to his account, if there isn't such
user, then
e-mail should be delivered to default account. It is simple, isn't it?
On my qmail-powered sites I used to set .qmail-domain-default
alias. Could anybody help me to implement the smae functionality on
Courier using LDAP authentication? Note, that I need
it only for some ( not all ) domains...
