[Coworking] Conjunctured Coworking in Austin, Oh Hai!

2008-06-27 Thread Dusty

Hi all,

Dusty from Austin here.

After 2 false starts, Conjunctured finally secured a lease for a
coworking space in Austin! w00t!

We had an impromptu party last Monday when we got the keys. Check out
Cesar's video here:
http://conjunctured.com/blog/the-super-secret-party-from-last-night/

We're opening for a "soft launch" July 1st and our grand opening is
August 4th! Please wish us luck and I'll keep everyone posted as
things develop. :)

Dusty

So, Jerome from Blankspaces.com in LA emailed me and I hope he doesn't mind,
but I wanted to pass this along:

Basically, they created a YouTube ad for Blankspaces. It's funny and catchy
and I'm seriously inspired to do one for coworking as well as one for
Citizen Space. I thought the rest of you would be, too. :)

[Coworking] Re: The New York Times likes coworking!

2008-06-27 Thread Tara Hunt
Hilarious about working from home to get things done. I find the same thing.
As soon as I go into Citizen Space, it's all about running Citizen Space, so
if I have to get book writing/editing done or some other task I need to
concentrate on, I have to stay away! But I think that is really only an
'owner' problem. :)

I believe Alex Hillman has hired someone to take that stuff on for him so he
can get more work done and it's working like a charm. Someday...

I work from home because our members and my staff always want
to talk to me, so I just can't get anything done. But you know
reporter's write it they want. Still more coworking press is always
a good thing.

I think I will just go up to Sandbox Suites or Citizen Space the next
time I want to get work done, of course I will have to leave
my kids at Cubes&Crayons :)

[Coworking] Liz Cable - Introduction

2008-06-27 Thread Liz Cable

Hello all.

I'm investigating co-working as part of a flexible working project
www.beyond9to5.co.uk, in relation to "home-shoring", and also as a way
of using potential "excess" office space for a company whose own
workers mostly work remotely.  Leeds has one co-working centre at nti
(hello Linda!), and another one that is proposed for an old primary
school in a student/young professional district.

I love to work this way, and my ambition is to help found a co-working
centre in a more rural area in the Dales in Yorkshire (as long as
there's a train station . . . )

Look forward to swapping ideas.

Liz
