[Coworking] Has anyone information on city municipalities partnering with private coworking space?

2014-07-24 Thread Cheryl Jaycox
Hi Everyone,

I have opened and been operating HIVE44 Business Coworking Center for
almost 3 years. We are doing quite well. I finally have found
someone within my city government that ALMOST has a clue to the benefit of
coworking in their city. I am wanting to work with them and let them use
the space as a marketing plan start ups and entrepreneurs to the city.

I do not want money from them I want their support.

Anyway...I was asked if there were other cities that did this? How do those
cities participate?

Problem is I am the only coworking center in the county we live in...there
are a few in the city limits of St. Louis, but not the county...We are
located in an incorporated city of Fenton...it is the officials of the City
of Fenton I need information for

So any ideas? Has anyone had support from their city officials? Is there
any archived topics about this? Links I can use to persuade them or educate
them?

I know I will have to go in front of the Alderman and City Attys... so any
help is truly appreciated...

HIVE44 Business Center
Fenton Mo.

[Coworking] How to add my space to the wiki.coworking.org Directory

2014-07-24 Thread Lisa Anne Logan
Hi there,

I've requested access through the join this workspace link a few times in
recent months and never received a response. Is anyone else having this issue?
Is there an active admin/moderator for this workspace currently?

in particular, I'd like to add my space to the San Francisco directory listing,
and it seems I need access to do so.

Hello Tony All,
I'm working with a client on a budget for a space and would love to see any
cash flow projections that this group is willing to share. I'm also just
looking for a list of budgeted items just to make sure that we are thinking
of everything when it comes to potential expenses.
Happy to sign an NDA for anyone who needs it. Thanks to all of you - what
an amazing group!

[Coworking] Google Cal conference room booking by many different domains

2014-07-24 Thread Lisa Anne Logan

Hi there,

We've been using the ol' write your name on the door method for booking
conference rooms, and I'd like to implement a Google Calendar system
instead. And, of course, by tomorrow ;)

Ideally, everyone on a specific Google Groups distro (e.g.
memb...@hattery.com) would have access to all our conference room resource
calendars for booking. I would add and remove people from that group as
they join or leave Hattery, and that would update their calendar access.
Access would always by synched between that group and the resource list.

It seems like this should just work as described, but it doesn't. The
kicker may be that our members use dozens of different domain names, so the
typical share with everyone in my domain choices don't apply.

Looking for a Google Calendar whiz who might be able to lend some ideas...

Thanks!

I'm trying to come up with a proposal template that will be easy to read

Any suggestions where I could find some samples?

[Coworking] HELP Needed-- Success Stories and data on Private coworking space and city officials partnering together

2014-07-24 Thread Cheryl Jaycox
Hi Everyone,

HIVE44 Business Center is located Fenton Mo. in St. Louis County. We have
been open for almost 3 years, we have had ups and downs, but we are holding
strong!
We are the 1st and only coworking/shared workspace in the county. There are
are 5 Independent like us in the city, however St. Louis City funds their
own incubator which they are currently opening a coworking center
tooANYWAYI have finally persuaded a city official to OPEN their
Minds to the opportunity that they have by having a private coworking
center, how they can use it to benefit the community, to become the only
city in St. Louis County that has a coworking business center. I do not
want money from the city, I need no funding from ANY government official/
department. We have become successful and continue to grow. What I want is
their support, to promote HIVE44 as the City of Fenton Business Center.

I would like to get any information, success stories, links to news
articles you may know of and any ideas of how coworking and cities work
together for economic growth of their community..

Any past archived topic of discussion would help too!!

[Coworking] Launching Co-Work Hub where never Seen Before....

2014-07-24 Thread Bethany Wilcox
Hi,
Our Incubator, WTEnterprise Center, is trying to start up a co-working
space here in Amarillo. This will be introducing a new industry into this
community because Amarillo has never seen or heard of Co-Working before.
We are close to the final stages of this project although we have a few
things we need help on. One of those being, how do we spread the news of
Co-working to people who don't know what it is? Also how do we gain the
co-working community that co-working is so well known for? We started to
think about contacting other hubs in other communities and get together
with them to see if they would spread the word about us to those members
that travel, and offer our services to them whilst they are here.

We would also like to get some input on our memberships. Here is what we
are offering:

Co-Working
memberships

Basic:

· Collaborative space {Monday – Friday 8-5}

· West Conference Room Access{When Available}

· Wifi Access

· Coffee Bar

· Copy/Fax/Print

· Break room/Restrooms

· Workout room/Shower

Basic Plus:

· Locking Desk

· Conference/Training Room Access {When Available}

· Mailing Address

· 24/7 Access by Swipe Card

· Price Break for EC Training and Events

· Growth Wheel, Lean Startup and SWWCWY Tools

Pro:

· Access to 3 Separate Hours of Any Specialists

o Additional Hours Upon Request

If you have any comments on how we can better our services and any new
ideas that you may have for us we would greatly appreciate it; anything
helps.

Thanks!

This isn't a direct answer to the question, but because I've had the same
experience as Jerome (a.k.a. ya can't actually do it), you may want to look
at other tools that integrate with GCal. I haven't actually used this tool,
but I've seen it used and it seems really nice:

Re: [Coworking] How to add my space to the wiki.coworking.org Directory

2014-07-24 Thread Jacob Sayles
Lisa,

I am very sorry for the delay approving your access to the wiki. Out team
in in a constant state of flux and lately we have been dropping the ball.
Truth is, the wiki needs some new champions. A few years ago I started
Open Coworking, a non-profit with the mission to keep the core values in
the conversation and keep basic infrastructure, like the wiki, up and
running. I haven't been able to solidify the organization and I'm rather
busy with other projects at the moment as well. I'm actually in SF too
this sumer working on a Coliving Hotel. Perhaps we could get coffee and I
could talk you in to taking over the wiki team! If anyone is interested in
the job, please let me know and I'll be happy to show you the ropes.

[Coworking] Re: Google Cal conference room booking by many different domains

2014-07-24 Thread Andy Soell
We've been using SuperSaaS http://www.supersaas.com (horrible name,
decent product) for the past few months and it's worked great. Worth far
more than the $8/month they charge, and I believe it integrates with Google
Calendar and will let you use your own custom domain name. Best of all you
can set up the bookable resources so you don't even need to log in to use
it. The last thing a coworker need is one more password to remember.
