[Coworking] Re: AltamontCowork Closing

2014-11-17 Thread Sabrina
Hi Mike,

I've been enjoying your posts, your encouragement for coworking, and your
spirit of positivity for about 3-4 years now and I will certainly miss your
presence. I'm a Bay Area ex-Pat in Plymouth England now, which in a way is
probably a lot like Tracy: geographically and work-culturally a little bit
off the mainstream pace. Our coworking space has been around for only 1/2
year, so needless to say I have been absorbing a lot from this group in the
few years before we started and of course the 6 months since we launched.
Wishing you all the best in your next adventure. I'm sure your positivity
will bring you much delight in the future. Best -Sabrina

Re: [Coworking] Who's shopping for electronic door locks?

2014-11-17 Thread Jane Behr
Lockitron is not working out for us. They're backed up and are now saying
they can't fulfill our order until after the new year. Even more
importantly, our local fire marshal thinks the Lockitron is a TERRIBLE
idea. We can't have our door locked while anyone is inside - egress has to
be single motion unlatching of a door lever. Since our occupancy with be
under 49, she's not requiring a crash bar, but we would not pass inspection
with a deadbolt system like Lockitron. SO - I guess I'll use my new
Lockitron (if I ever get it) on my door at home. For the coworking
space... still trying to figure it out.

One workaround could be posting on the door, “Doors to remain unlocked during
