Re: [Coworking] teams, projects

2018-10-16 Thread Caner Onoglu
Richard,
My family owned company has an outdated web page (www.altaca.com) but it
doesn't have info about the projects I want to accomplish with coworking.

I am living in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. It is a developing oil town by the
Caspian sea and Ural river.

These are my current goals, projects:

- Create an intellectual club named CheCuCo which stands for Chess, Cube,
Code. *

- Open a pinsa, sushi, wok delivery business.**

- Run my existing apartment rental business more effectively.

- Create a cooperative for building a new residential community.

- Start an online grocery delivery business.

Notes:
* Cube stands for Rubik Cube and similiar puzzles.
** Pinsa is an ancient sourdough pizza bread receipe made with wheat, soya
and rice fluors and fermented for 3 days which makes it easy to digest and
healthy. Toppings will also be selected from unprocessed whole foods.

I will be glad to hear your thoughts on how we can cooperate.

Re: [Coworking] Coworking Business Plan

2018-10-16 Thread Tony Bacigalupo
Hey Cristina,

Welcome to the group!

I have a free starter kit that includes a basic business model template
here:
http://nwc.co

There's also a more robust premium package here:
http://nwc.co/3/coworking-business-model-template/

Coworking has become incredibly diverse, so there are different ways of
approaching the model based on the needs in your region and your own
personal disposition. This can include:

   1. Just a casual club
   2. Coworking in under-utilized space (restaurants, cafes, etc)
   3. Coworking only
   4. Coworking + cafe
   5. Coworking + consultancy
   6. Coworking + private offices
   7. Coworking + events & educational programming
   8. Coworking at scale

And many more.

When I work with a new client to help them with their planning, one of the
first things I'll do is get a sense of which of the above models might be
the best fit for their interests.

Often they already have an idea in mind, though it's still good to go
through the process of examining all of the possibilities—I frequently help
people temper their expectations by recommending starting with something
smaller, to help pave the way for a more ambitious undertaking.

Once you have a rough idea of the high-level approach you want to pursue,
then you can start looking at numbers to get an idea of how a model might
work.

What you may find, however, is that unless you happen to already have an
existing community or related network and a space lined up, it may be a
while before you can get too specific—building interest in the project and
rallying stakeholders around the general idea will likely be necessary
before you can plug in real-life numbers with a real-life space.

Once you have a particular space in your sights, you can plug in the actual
square footage and cost per square foot (at least that's how we do it with
my templates) to get accurate projections and an estimate of what you'd
have to charge to make it profitable.

I hope that helps!

Would you like to tell us a little more about your project?

Cheers,
Tony Bacigalupo

[Coworking] Coworking Business Plan

Hello,

I'm working on a business plan in order to open a coworking space. Do you
have any tips & tricks for me?
It would help me if you have a model business plan.

Thank you!

[Coworking] Smart Cities

2018-10-16 Thread Mateusz Jarosiewicz
Dear friends,

Do smart city initiatives spread around you? Do you see how the startup
ecosystem becomes interesting for the city town hall? Do you see possible
synergies? I'm sure yes! This is what made me go deeply and practically
into the subject of how smart cities and co-working can be the driving
force of future smart cities.

https://medium.com/@MJarosiewicz/from-coworking-to-a-smart-city-5bf31c875b0e

In this article and in the interview in the Smart City Podcast, I express
my experiences and ideas as well as thoughts developed over the last 10
years. I started in a small co-working space in my flat in Poland in 2008.
I hope both forms will prove it is interesting and valuable.

What concerned me and what I’m talking about in the Smart City Podcast is
that if, in fact, startups offering services to the citizens are often
placed in coworking, I assumed that the future role of this community for
the city will be of a great importance. Recognizing the positive effect of
gathering creative people in post-industrial districts in order to
revitalize it gives me hope that the urban strategy will eventually include
a systematic approach to support and give benefits for local communities.
But it's not what always happens. In most cases the positive effect of this
coalition is consumed by private business, not the city itself.

.

I am waiting for your opinions!
Best regards,
Mateusz

Richard,
Thanks for referring me Gangplank in Arizona. They are very inspiring, they
did almost everything what I have been dreaming. Great resource. I would
certainly visit them if I was in US.
The reason I want to create a coworking is actually my need to find
coworkers/team members to share my entrepreneurial ideas, projects. I also
enjoy helping others more than doing my own tasks. If there are other
people who has the same style, then we can create successful teams!
I will keep you and the group updated about my progress.
Once again thank you!
