Hi Lauren, this is something we actually discussed with a lot of coworking space owners/managers when we were building out the booking functionality of www.meshworkapp.com. How we handle it is we charge the member/non-member at the time of booking, however give a 100% refund if they cancel the booking with 48 hours notice and a 50% refund when they cancel it with 24 hours notice. I've also spoken with some spaces that always require a 48 hour notice as well as others that only require a 24 hour notice. We were shooting for something that seemed reasonable without getting overcomplicated, however I'm sure there are lots of different ways to do it. Hope that helps.
