[Coworking] Re: The Cube for Coworking

2009-10-26 Thread Phil

Howdy ya'll,

I started The Cube while working out of Mike space...

As to where it ultimately goes, it really can be anything the members
want to turn it into, but my original intent was simply to be a place
for causal socializing. I started coworking both in Mike's space and
elsewhere about 4 months ago, and have found the synergism of ideas
and support gained by coworking to be very productive. I had worked
in shared offices before and the lack of that community in that
environment made it much less enjoyable and ultimately less
productive.

I felt a location that could foster that social nature of coworking
and provide a visual dialogue with photos/ videos would be a great
compliment to both the wiki and the Google group. I worried about
diluting the stream as well, it just seemed to me that the other
outlets and good a covering the how and why of coworking but by their
nature make it difficult to share upcoming events and general
socializing...allowing a central place to follow space happenings,
posting photos of spaces and events, etc.

Any suggestion as to how to make it more useful are of course welcome.

-Phil

hi mike,

what do you hope to achieve on the ning group? i signed up because i
was curious to see what it was going to lead to, but i worry about
diluting the general coworking conversation between many places.

just curious why you thought the ning group was necessary.

[Coworking] Re: The Cube for Coworking

2009-10-24 Thread jasontgoodr...@gmail.com

Hi, r.!

I can't answer for Mike, but since The Cube just started, I guess it
can be whatever its members want it to be. Personally, I see it as a
good complement to the wiki and Google group as an outlet for casual
socializing and sharing.

I'd be more comfortable posting an event calendar or promos on The
Cube than here, FWW. Having a central place to check out space
happenings would be awesome, too. So thanks, Mike!
