Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Possible SPAM BOT

2017-11-28 Thread Stephan Herrmann

Perhaps related: https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/sp/218037/

some answers copy bits and pieces from previous answers in the same thread.
I wouldn't think of a bot, though, more likely someone trying to look smart?

Webmaster,

We get the impression that Priya Arrora is abusing/exploiting/misusing the forum traffic in an inappropriate way.  Surely
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=1087159&goto=1771660&#msg_1771660 is totally strange.  I don't know if you guys
have the ability to send a direct email to see if there is a human at the other end, but at this point I would prefer that this
account be blocked.

This is getting wierd. ?? https://www.linkedin.com/in/priya-arrora-2b2218138/ -

Her comments are too sensible for SPAM, but too disconnected for a sensible
user.

I have three hypotheses:

a) She has major finger trouble/a really bad mail client and is responding to
wrong threads.

b) Some AI BOT is testing its ability to communicate like a human

c) Some research team is testing our ability to handle perverse responses/an AI
BOT

Not sure what to do about any of the above. Perhaps do nothing is best at least
until the behaviour is clearer.

Looking at https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/sp/218050/ she comments on
C++, AJDT, WTP too.

If
https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=1081001&goto=1772018&#msg_1772018
was written by a BOT, I am impressed.

Conversely https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=1087159&goto=1771660&#msg_1771660 was surely written by a BOT. A
human would have added a smilie of some sort.
