Re: [css-d] IE6 causes layout to grow vertically
Hi Matthew, I tried clearing the cache and it's still happening. I am running Windows XP and IE6 too. If you scroll to the very bottom so you can see the footer, mouse over any link in the search return and watch the scroll bar grow and the space below the footer grow. Having done more research on IE bugs I am wondering if this is what's called the Guillotine Bug? Marcus, I am having trouble re-creating the problem using the Search Return link above. I am running Windows XP Home and using IE 6.0. Perhaps its a browser cache problem? [css-d] Advice desired
Hi all, I'm very new to CSS and XHTML, knowing nothing about it as of 2 months ago. I'm also 64 and so my ability to remember many things is showing signs of decline. I inherited a site and was in the process of trying to eliminate all the errors W3C had pointed out, but I decided I would just make everything look better (all the boxes had right aligned text!), and then later, I would make a change in the design. I have recreated the page error free but am unable to place the navigation tabs where they belong, and the side borders do not appear. I have grown to like the layout and would like to keep it. I would like to know what people think of the page and how I should proceed to improve it. http://www.bcam.qc.ca Thanks, Gerry [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please quote my message in your reply, otherwise I won't know to what you are referring. Hex values are unambiguous and consistent in meaning - but screens are not. What's causing the difference is not the browser but the box itself. Try re-callibrating your monitors acording to their instruction manuals. [css-d] strange display error in IE 6
Hallo, If you compare the appearance of this page: http://testwww.zeno.org/Bibliothek/Zeno/0/Profisuche?m=1 in Firefox with the one in IE 6, you may recognize that (most of the times when the page is loaded) there is some text misssing above the serach form in the middle. The header (Erweiterte Suche) ist not shown at all, neither it's background color, nor ist white text nor ist border-bottom. The sentence following the header is invisible, too. If I do a select all, the hidden text is not selected. But I can select it manually by dragging the mouse over it. If you refresh the page, sometimes the header and that first paragraph are drawn, sometimes not. In addition, the footer line (ZenoServer 1.5.41 ...) is supposed to be outside of the blue rectangle. And it is in Firefox and IE 7 - but not in IE 6... Could anybode tell me what's wrong there?
