[css-d] Site Revision
Good Day; In response to the comments I received about a week ago, I have made quite a few changes to the proposed redesign of one of my sites. http://www.drdelmath.com/playpen/tableless_single_index_page2.html Because I have ripped this page from its normal moorings, the links do not work. I have tried a number of colors and have tested the readability when projected in my classroom. I have used unordered lists. I have changed some font families. All constructive comments are appreciated. For usability this is confusing. I question the white background on the link hover. Looks odd to my eyes. There might be a better method of handling this by using something like: background: url(background_hemp3-hover.jpg) for the ul.index li:hover It would be better to be able to read the thematics part of Mathematics. Maybe move the gradient fade to the right a little. Just cosmetics. But anytime you can help put a user at ease the better. Maybe add a little code to the changeStyle function so that the radio button checked state keeps up with the monitor state. If you click the word projection the style will change but the radio button check is not altered. This is a little confusing. A few observations. Hope they are constructive. Be assured I will very carefully consider everything you said. Your design is not the direction I had planned, but it is certainly an option worthy of consideration. I don't understand you comment: Lighten up a little The page is very well organized. It appears to be quite readable on the three systems I use for checking. (FF, IE 7 8) I stopped supporting or caring about IE 6 at least a year ago. Furthermore it passes muster with my students as far as readability is concerned. I do observe differences, which I hope to resolve with additional study, between the three test browsers . [css-d] Site Revision Critique
Good Day; I am beginning the long process of revising a large site which, until now, has just grown without design. I began with one of many pages which index content pages. My first attempt is here http://www.drdelmath.com/playpen/tableless_single_index_page.html Because I have ripped this page from its normal moorings, the links do not work. All suggestions are appreciated. I suppose I could have used unordered lists but chose not to. Is there any strong reason for using lists as opposed to paragraphs as I have done? What causes the page to break? in what way? Will these colors be presented reasonably well by different browser/monitor combinations? Can I improve the HTML or CSS in any significant way? When I get to the content pages, I plan the same color scheme with a white rectangle containing the content. Thanks. [css-d] Site revision/check
Please check this site for me. http://carolisol.com I've checked Mac browsers - Safari, iCab and Firefox and would like other browser checks I was having trouble with two issues in IE which I've attempted to correct. I'd like to know if I was successful: 1) the logo showed with a border and 2) the table at the top of the page on http://carolisol.com/book.html was hitting the left margin instead of being centered in the page as it ought to be. Thank you for this check and helpful guidance on last review.
