Children death rate in Iraq is among the highest ones in the world. The group includes nine gynecologists who will teach the local doctors methods that will save hundreds of lives. If I hadnt lived here for so long, I would have had shivers from that arrogant cynicism. Not a word was mentioned why the Iraqi children death rate was so high (or about the role of wonderful, high civilized Britain in the 13-year cruelest sanctions against that country that had eaten out the life of half a million of the Iraqi children!) Nine British gynecologists - for all the 22 million Iraq whose blood is flowing away now under the imperialist US-UK occupation boots Besides, they apparently are expecting applause for their courage and generosity. Just as in the good old times they will teach those savages/aborigines the most simple things. They will carry the light of civilization to the ignorant and the backward. Their ancestors had done just that in the conquered countries during the long colonial years. The majority of the British think so even now: that is what they are being taught at school. It doesnt matter that there is not a trace of the WMD promised by Pinocchio Blair. It was worth while to start that war and exterminate and disable thousands of mothers and children just to be able to send to the country of the most ancient civilization a team of 9 British gynecologists and save the life of hundreds of mothers. Indeed, it should be crystal clear for everybody how lucky these aborigines are! Otherwise they would never learn how to stop a bleeding without operation. At the same time a certain number of still not killed away terrorists dare to resist in some Fallujah! (The TV news reporters only mention Fallujah, and reluctantly at that manipulating us into concluding that what is going there is too insignificant to arrest our attention.) But I have lived here too long to wonder at that performance. Nobody wonders at the deep gratitude of the Iraqi boy to the British (according to the TV broadcasts), the same boy whose family they have assassinated with their smart bombs, and he himself was left without arms. So great British have taken him to Britain and have sewn him new arms in - quite free of charge It is not a joke. I just repeat what they kept saying on their TV news. To joke - for what? It is for crying not for joking. No, one should not cry but think how to prevent the offensive of these civilized no-men on the rest of the world. (Remember that the situation with the NWO and the human rights at home is not exactly what they wish it should be - besides, the most important: there are heaps of oil in Russia, arent there?) They feed me the same old crap from the Congressional Research Center, and sometimes it is contradictory, as if one staffer does not know what the other staffer provided. The shocking images drew immediate condemnation from the prime minister and led the Ministry of Defence to launch an investigation. The prisoner - thought to have been a thief - had his jaw broken and his teeth smashed during an eight-hour ordeal after being arrested near the southern Iraqi city of Basra. Bleeding and vomiting, he was eventually driven away from the army camp, still hooded, and thrown off the back of a moving vehicle. He was not charged with an offence and it is not known whether he lived or died. The photographs were given to the Mirror newspaper by soldiers who said the horrific treatment of prisoners was widespread and was one of the main reasons why coalition forces faced such fierce opposition in Iraq. One told the newspaper: We are not helping ourselves out there. We are never going to get them on our side. We are fighting a losing war. Last night the chief of general staff, General Sir Michael Jackson, condemned the incident. Sir Michael said: I am aware of the allegations which have been made today of the abuse of prisoners by British soldiers in Iraq. If proven, not only is such appalling conduct clearly unlawful, but it also contravenes the British Army's high standards. All allegations are already under investigation. If proven, the perpetrators are not fit to wear the Queen's uniform. They have besmirched the good name of the Army and its honour. Most emphatically, the British Army should not be judged by the reprehensible ill-discipline of a few soldiers who, by their shameful behaviour, have let down those tens of thousands of British soldiers who have worked, and still do, in difficult and dangerous conditions in the most commendable way, in particular in Iraq, where their sole purpose is to help the Iraqis to a new and better future. A soldier who witnessed the man's arrest and beating told the Mirror how the prisoner had been held during a raid on suspected thieves at Basra docks in southern Iraq. We just caught the one guy that time. Straight away, he gets a beating - a couple of punches and kicks to put him down. Then he was dragged to the back of the vehicle. A sandbag was placed over the man's head and his hands tied. The soldier said the man had been hit with batons. You normally try to leave off the face until you are in camp, he told the Mirror. If you pull up with black eyes and bleeding faces, you could be in a bit of shit. So it is body shots, just scaring him. The prisoner was kept for around eight hours while the beatings were carried out. The photographs show him being bludgeoned with rifle butts in the head and groin. A gunbarrel is placed in the prisoner's mouth through the bag on his head, while others kick and stamp on him. One soldier urinates on him. In the final few photographs the man is barely conscious, his shirt torn, while vomit seeps through the sack on his head. The soldier, who admits he took part in the attack, said the man was pleading with the others to stop. He could speak a few words, 'No mister, no mister.' What I did was less than others, but yes, I joined in. The soldier said he feared the man would die. He was dying, basically, so he could not take any more, so basically they threw him out. Indian soldiers lured by dollars By Siddharth Srivastava 05/01/04 -- NEW DELHI - The first reports about the happening appeared in January. Now it is a phenomenon that has spread across the country, involving possibly thousands of people. In a very discreet operation, US and British security sub-contractors are seeking out Indian ex-servicemen known for their professionalism and discipline for deployment in Iraq. Moves by the coalition forces to outsource security are a result of the alarming increase in casualties, with indications of the war dragging on for some time. Further, there is a less likelihood of an attack on an Indian, who mingles easily with the general population, and who is also generally considered friendly by Iraqis. For the retired lowly paid Indian soldier, the money being doled out is attractive and difficult ! to refuse. Needless to say, the Indian personnel work under the direct command of United States and British forces. Most are deployed to perform security duties, such as guarding key installations like oil wells, refineries, food convoys and ports, as well as normal day-to-day duties around military camps. Though there is no involvement in direct combat, the situation in Iraq is fraught with risk, with some reports indicating that a few Indians might already have been injured. In June last year, the Indian government turned down a US request to send an Indian peacekeeping force to Iraq. In a statement the Ministry of External Affairs said: The government of India has given careful thought to the question of sending troops to Iraq. Were there to be an explicit UN mandate, the government would consider the deployment of troops to Iraq. The stand of the Indian government has remained the same since, having resisted all pressure from the US. The first ind ication of the transfer of Indian personnel to Iraq was from the south Indian state of Kerala, which is the hub of Indians heading for the Middle East in general as engineers, construction workers and other skilled jobs. The reports said that around 500 ex-servicemen, who had served in various fighting units of the Indian Army (artillery, infantry armored core), had been recruited from the central districts of Kerala for deployment in Iraq. The contingent was termed as the first-ever Indian regiment to work as a mercenary force for the US, with the recruitment done by a Kuwaiti company working for the US Army. The entire process was done without the knowledge of the central government in Delhi, or bodies responsible for the welfare of ex-servicemen. What followed was a series of similar details emerging from the north Indian states of Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, where the maximum numbers of retired soldiers reside. These ex-servicemen are approached by Indian private s! ecurity agencies which front for the sub-contractors appointed by the US and British forces in Iraq. The money, by Indian standards, is very good, due to which many ex-soldiers, who have to make do with low pensions, are willing to take the risk. A sepoy (private) is being offered as much as $750 a month, a captain $1,250, major/lieutenant-colonel $1,750, a colonel $2,500 and brigadier $3,500. A serving brigadier in the Indian Army earns much less than $1,000 a month - a private almost nothing. Most of the ex-servicemen chosen are below the age of 55 and medically fit. Preference is given to those who have been involved in counter-insurgency operations, fighting guerrilla attacks in northeast India or experience of war. The streets were empty. After avoiding the Americans the Ahmeds got stuck at a US roadblock, and had to sleep in a neighbouring village. Some 24 hours later, Mr Ahmed made it to Baghdad. It's hell, Mr Ahmed said, minutes after arriving at a refugee camp set up by the Iraqi Red Crescent on a roadside football pitch. The Americans have violated the ceasefire. They are attacking us with jet fighters, tanks and artillery. The US snipers are on every roof and minaret. They don't care who they shoot. They are shooting old people, women and children.Where is the UN in all this? After days of bombings and sniper fire, it was not surprising that Mr Ahmed and other refugees were sceptical that a new ceasefire deal under which US forces an 1,100-strong Iraqi force commanded by one of Saddam Hussein's former generals will take over security would hold. By the time I get back to Falluja everything will be destroyed, Mr Ahmed said. In the meantime conditions for the civilian population still stuck in Falluja were hellish. Abu Mohammad, 30, who left the town yesterday morning, said: There is no electricity. There is no water. There are no food supplies at all. He said the US warplanes and helicopters that have been pounding Falluja for the past three days had been targeting civilian areas. They are bombing civilians. When I was about to leave there were two ladies trying to get out. American snipers shot them dead. Their bodies are still lying out on the street in al-Jumhuriya.The roads are deserted. All the area is bombarded. We are hearing shelling, artillery, and always the sirens of ambulances. The US began its siege of Falluja more than three weeks ago after the killing and mutilation of four US security contractors. The Bush administration has tried to portray the insurgents inside the city as either foreign fighters or diehard supporters of Saddam Hussein. On Wednesday, Tony Blair described them as former regime elements and outside terrorists. Yesterday, however, those from Falluja could not understand Mr Blair's claim. The insurgents were not terrorists but Iraqis, they did not support the old regime and were merely fighting a patriotic war against American occupation. The people doing the fighting are locals, Mr Mohammad, who fled with his wife and six children,said. They are not people who support Saddam. Others complained that the Americans had created the problem in the Sunni town west of Baghdad by using indiscriminate and excessive force which was more appropriate to a battlefield than a residential area. There is no mercy at all, said Sami Sabri, 65, who arrived at the camp a week ago said. Two of his cousins, Kalif Ali, 22, and Issam Shaker, 19, had been shot dead by US snipers. All they did was open the door of their house. They were trying to leave. The Americans killed them. We picked up Kalif's body and buried him in the football stadium. We did not have a proper ceremony. We just dropped him in the tomb and left for Baghdad. What did he think of the Americans now? I want to kill them all, he said. Muthana Harith al-Dhari, spokesman for the Muslim clerics' association which has been attempting to mediate in the Falluja standoff, said the coalition's analysis of the situation in the town was fundamentally wrong. War, whether or not justified, should always be avoided, and undertaken only in the direst of circumstances, and then only in self-defense. Our Constitution provided for this horrific possibility, a possibility that could indeed become reality if there were such enemies of our republic that longed for our wealth, our natural resources, or our vast land regions. The terrorist acts perpetrated against US on September 11, 2001, can never be interpreted as either an act of war or an invasion. Terrorist groups do not equate to an attacking nation. Terrorism is almost always an act of frustration against an unbeatable power, designed to instill fear in either its government or its populace in order to promote disruption and to bring about an intellectual effort aimed at the reconsideration or revision of policies that provoked the attack. The terrorists have told US they acted in retaliation for our militaristic conspiracies against them in the Middle East and due to our alliance with hated Israel. When will the 9-11 commission acknowledge this? The Bush administration has been hammered by a growing number of former operatives and executives who have made it clear that the administrations number one objective from the get-go was the invasion of Iraq. Some conclusions I draw from the book: *Once President Bush was elected and put together his team, a war with Iraq was locked in. Men like Vice President Dick Cheney, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld had made up their minds that invasion was essential. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz had written the plan for invasion in 1996. The only countervailing force was Secretary of State Colin Powell. He was frozen out, however, by the others, in part because the president felt intimidated by him. *CIA Director George Tenet provided ''evidence'' about weapons of mass destruction to support the war, which he described to the president as slam-dunk proof but which was in fact very weak. Woodward himself says that a story he co-authored about dissent within the American intelligence agencies should have appeared on Page 1 of the Washington Post instead of Page 17. Apparently, Bush and Cheney still believe that weapons will be found, and so will the link to al-Qaida. They are, I think, the only ones who believe in either global folk tale. *The administration sold the public -- and perhaps the president sold himself -- on the Iraq invasion as part of the ''war on terrorism.'' That was a rationalization for the war perhaps, but it was never the real reason. It was a deception, perhaps even a lie, from beginning to end. The real reason is that ''all the president's men'' wanted the war. *The slogan ''war on terrorism'' (or ''war on terror'') was false from the very beginning. Yet it has been a powerful political mantra for the administration to win support for almost anything it has wanted to do. The struggle against terrorists is not a war in any sense that the word has normally meant. It has the same value as, for example, the ''war on drugs.'' *The president's personality and religious faith -- in combination -- make it impossible for him to have serious second thoughts or even to admit any ambiguity. If a decision is ''right,'' then it is right no matter what. Many Americans, perhaps a slight majority, think this is ''strong'' leadership. My feeling is that it edges toward religious fanaticism and is not altogether different from the ''rightness'' of Osama bin Laden's faith. If there is a mistake, it is not the president's mistake. It's God's mistake because God told him he had made the right decision. *A president serves the nation better if he admits at least to himself how problematic all political decisions are. President John F. Kennedy, for example took full responsibility for the Bay of Pigs fiasco, even though he inherited the project from his predecessor. During the Cuban missile crisis, Kennedy's stubborn resistance to those who wanted war prevented a nuclear holocaust. A president who has no self-doubt, no ability to question his own mistakes, is a very dangerous man. Finally, besides some outlines of responsibilities, there was very little in the plan of attack that took seriously the problems of postwar Iraq -- problems that last week caused Rumsfeld at least to admit some uncertainty. There is not the slightest indication that anyone knew about or considered seriously the difficulties Britain encountered in Mesopotamia (as it was then called) in the early 1920s -- or the cruelty necessary for Britain's victory. Up to 4,000 troops will begin arriving in the next few weeks to plug the gap left by the 1,300 Spanish soldiers who were withdrawn from the country last week. It is understood that Tony Blair, the Prime Minister, took the decision to send the additional troops to Iraq after meeting President George W. Bush at a White House summit two weeks ago. The Government has so far refused to make an official announcement. Defence chiefs have backed the deployment, but have warned the Government that the Army is at full stretch and would struggle to deal with any other international emergency requiring personnel. Senior officers have also warned that the deployment of troops to Najaf and Kut, where heavy fighting has recently taken place, is likely to lead to extensive casualties. Najaf, which contains the most important Shia shrine in Iraq, is where Moqtada al-Sadr, a Shia cleric, has established a 3,000-strong militia force whose members are vehemently opposed to the occupation of their country. The British force will be composed of troops from the Royal Marine Commandos, a Parachute Regiment battalion and an as-yet unidentified infantry battalion, as well as supporting elements from artillery and logistics units. The force will be lead by Brig Jim Dutton, the commander of 3 Commando Brigade, who also served during the Iraq war. The first move towards deployment began last Thursday when a strategic reconnaissance team of senior Army officers from the Permanent Joint Headquarters, at Northwood, Middlesex, flew to Iraq. It is understood that officers from 3 Commando headquarters will also be flying out within the next week to conduct reconnaissance of the area. The reconnaissance team is expected to deliver its findings to Gen John Reith, the chief of Joint Operations, who will brief Geoff Hoon, the Defence Secretary, on his plan of action. If you want Hegels statement on the relations between Master (them) and Slave (us), see pages 520 to 523 of Phenomenology of Spirit. This is the section on Lordship and Bondage. (We term it, Master and Slave): The self consciousness of the Lord is essentially related to the being of the mere things he uses and uses up, and these he enjoys through the bondsmans (slave) self consciousness. The bondsman prepares and arranges things for the enjoyment of the Lord. In brief, the function of us the slaves is to work for the Master. See Bush/Cheney as the Lord and you and I as the slaves, then it all becomes clear. Our job is to go along. Theirs is to steal and grab and enjoy the product. If the steam and water wheel interests had kicked in for his reelection, no doubt they would have a place in the Bush-Cheney Plan. Its all about cash for reelection, put up enough cash, and you become one of the Masters. Bush actions follow closely Hegels plan for the Masters. The Masters should not be interested (according to Hegel) in new discovery. Leave that for the slaves to develop. Masters prefer to milk the old, which generates profit and give them control. Hegel is therefore intimately related to Skull Bones and Bohemian Grove. The reason that outside observers have not been able to get a handle on establishment power is because they have been trapped into a rightleft dichotomy and kept there by carefully baited political promises, rarely kept except to financial contributors. Collection of names and organizations is insufficient. One needs to know their operating philosophy to learn their goals and how they achieve their goals. This is not political meandering. Unless you understand the control features in todays world, you cannot make correct decisions on future technology. The input for the Bush-Cheney energy plan came only from conventional energy interests. The Administration refuses to release the working papers. Why? Because these will demonstrate that only a few energy firms got access to Cheney with their proposals. These were clearly selfserving proposals. No one else was even considered. Certainly not renewable energy sources or free energy.
