I know that this is old stuff but why the hell are we in the UN. It
is made up of and controlled by countries that have nothing to do
with the principles of a democratic state.

And that is to say nothing about the cost to the city of NY and the
state of NY and to the US government.

I don't see any government offical with the courage to propose to get
us out of the UN and the UN out of the USA. Perhaps there may be an
offical or two who has the courage but not many that would make a
difference.

I am so tired of Kerry and his cohorts proposing that we submit our
government to the UN for PERMISSION to defend our nations.

Can you imagine what the world would be like if this one world
government was to become a reality. Bye bye freedom

From Speaker Hastert's 9/11 Recommendations Implementation Act,
written in conjunction with the White House:

SEC. 3053. LINKING OF DATABASES.

(a) In General- To be eligible to receive any grant or other type of
financial assistance made available under this subtitle, a State shall
participate in the interstate compact regarding sharing of driver
license data, known as the `Driver License Agreement', in order to
provide electronic access by a State to information contained in the
motor vehicle databases of all other States.

This bill and the Senate's Collins-Lieberman bill, with John McCain's
crypto-national-ID amendment, is currently in a conference committee.
The Congresscritters hope to pass something for Bush to sign before
the election.

The Driver License Agreement (DLA) is a document written up by AAMVA
with federal grant money. AAMVA is the American Association of Motor
Vehicle Administrators, the trade organization for the state DMV
bureacracies.

The DLA spells out a program for interlinked biometric identity
databases hooked into state driver's licenses. But if you check the
definitons on page four of the DLA, you'll see that it is not just
states of the USA they have in mind:

From the Driver License Agreement, July 2004

Jurisdiction - A state, territory or possession of the United States,

What can I say, such a "noble" person deserves to be recognized.

Did ya ever notice "Sean" never refutes factual statements, he just slanders, attacks calls his vile accusations "hurtful talk" and then apologizes. (Isn't he just precious?) As if his making the "case" for saying that people that are looking into conspiratorial actions are mental cases never happened - Gee, "Sean" didn't apologize for that, hmmm.

Did ya see "Sean" lie about his email exchange with Hopsicker?

There are many other unanswered questions about certain facts ... but

Sean, I tell ya what, use some of your so-called smarts, look at the no-plane at the Pentagon and the Plane Pods in New York. Come down on one side or the other. Take a stand, be a man. And I won't call ya "Chip" again, untill, ... there is court proof.

Phoenix,

 Truce accepted.

We're both wasting too much attention on this spat, energy which could be channeled towards more productive pursuits.

Is Kris on board with this also?  We've got to be careful about inadvertently getting this thing going again with stray provocations.

I think we've all got sensitive egos that are easily bruised, have a certain streak of creative paranoia when it comes to interpreting events around us, and sometimes overreact when we feel insulted or threatened.  I know I'm guilty on all three counts, and have to work hard to maintain some self-discipline in those areas.

I've made some hurtful remarks about you and Kris that I wish I hadn't, out of an instinct to counterattack, and I apologize.

From now on, any negative remarks about cia-drugs or cia-drugs members are totally off limits on political-research.  Let's put this feud permanently behind us.  You and Kris have pursued many interesting lines of investigation into deep politics, and I hope you continue to do so in cia-drugs and other media.

I wish there was some way to convince you that my only connection to Berlet is that I've very occasionally noticed that I disagree with his dull and pedestrian apologetics for establishment politics.  He is someone who is barely on my radar -- I can think of many hundreds of more interesting writers.  He is so predictable and by-the-book that I never even tried to get him into focus as an individual.  (I have, however, found Kris's posts on him over the last day or two to be fascinating and enlightening, and, yes, disturbing.  I understand better now why he looms large in your suspicions.)

Perhaps after this thing cools down we can eventually reopen communications about this issue and other matters.

 Cheers,

 Sean

Media: Reuters outsourcing journalism

By Randeep Ramesh - © Guardian Newspapers Limited 2004

October 8, 2004, The Hindu

http://www.thehindu.com/2004/10/08/stories/2004100805581500.htm

BANGALORE, OCT. 7. Reuters, the financial news service, today
officially unveiled an office here. The office will see 20
journalists cover 2,000 small to medium-sized American
companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

The operation, based in Bangalore, has been running for six
months with a six-strong editorial team reporting on
companies' earnings, press releases and filings with the U.S.
Securities and Exchange Commission as well as analysts' stock
alerts.

This is just the beginning for Reuters in Bangalore. The
company's data unit, which archives material for 30,000
global firms, already employs 300 people and will grow by
another 300 next year. The average age in the office is 25.

In outsourcing journalism and data processing, Reuters has
become the first large media company to base U.S. corporate
reporting functions offshore.

The job of financial news reporter is just the latest in a
long line of positions, ranging from call centre operator to
legal researcher, which have been sent abroad in recent
years. Part of the reason is improved global communications;
the other is that work can be done more cheaply in poorer
countries.

Reuters admits costs are 60 per cent less in Bangalore than
its onshore centres in New York, Britain and Singapore.
But sensitive to the charge that it is cutting back in the
west only to hire abroad, managers deny that this is a reason
for coming to India.

Bangalore has two main advantages. People here speak English
and we have a large, highly educated workforce, in terms of
the number of MBAs and finance degrees, says Marion Leslie,
head of data operations, who moved from the company's Devon
office to Bangalore earlier this year.

It is number-heavy work and you need people who can
understand financial markets and make them understandable.

The technology boom has connected Bangalore to the rest of
the world far more rapidly than in other developing
countries.

The result, say journalists there, is that it is now possible
to send information around the world as easily as across a
room.

In the far end of the Reuters office, situated on the fourth
floor of a glass and concrete tower in downtown Bangalore,
Matthew Veedon motions to a colleague about a story that
needs writing and a deadline is looming. Prudential have put
out an upgrade on the stock, and it's important that we get
the story first, says Mr. Veedon, news editor in the
Bangalore bureau.

In two shifts, Mr. Veedon's six-person team is part of an
effort by the company to expand coverage of small and mid-cap
companies listed in New York.

Mr. Veedon says that Bangalore is not yet big enough to
handle breaking news. Once the story requires interviewing a
company director, or analysts then the New York bureau takes
over. We are just starting up here.

Though Reuters, which has its headquarters in London, is
perhaps best known as an international news agency, the bulk
of its revenue comes from the 400,000 people in the City of
London, on Wall Street and in other financial centres who use
its information products.

These rely on first extracting information and then
manipulating it to create the graphs and tables that are
building blocks of the expensive packages on the desks of
corporate financiers.

Tracking the boardroom shuffles and share offers of thousands
of companies across the world is a labour-intensive affair.
For Reuters, young workers in south India appear willing and
able to process large amounts of raw data.

Take company appointments. In the Bangalore office, a team of
seven graduates work through the boardrooms of more than 200
companies a day checking

Seeger, Fogerty Rollin' Down a River

By Jim Bessman

October 10, 2004, Reuters

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines04/1010-26.htm

NEW YORK - This is the guy who wrote 'Where Do the Children
Play?,' says Pete Seeger.

He is pondering the fact that Yusef Islam, who as Cat Stevens
also wrote Peace Train, was denied entry into the United
States because of -- to use the words of Homeland Security
Secretary Tom Ridge -- some relationship between the artist
and terrorist activity.

Seeger, who gave us We Shall Overcome and Turn! Turn!
Turn!, was blacklisted in the early 1950s as a member of
pioneering folk quartet the Weavers. The legendary folk
singer has just been informed that the title track from John
Fogerty's new album, Deja Vu All Over Again, alludes to
Seeger's nettlesome '60s anti-war anthem Waist Deep in the
Big Muddy.

The Vietnam-era song is an allegorical tale of reckless
military maneuvers in a Louisiana river (We're waist deep in
the Big Muddy/And the big fool says to push on!).
Controversy surrounding Seeger's performance of it on The
Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1968 contributed to the TV
show's cancellation.

It's fascinating to see how the establishment reacts to the
arts, Seeger says, referring to the Islam flap, but a good
song is hard to keep down and can leap all barriers.

KEY INFLUENCE

Fogerty, meanwhile, is happy to salute Seeger and his
influence on Deja Vu and Fogerty's career as a whole.

'Big Muddy' was definitely in my mind as I was completing
'Deja Vu, Fogerty says, referring to the single. It took
several months to get that second verse. I wanted to try and
measure up to what Pete has done in fulfilling the idea
rather than cheapening out, and I had him in mind many, many
times.

Fogerty's verse reads: One by one I see the old ghosts
rising/Stumblin' 'cross Big Muddy/Where the light gets
dim/Day after day another momma's crying/She's lost her
precious child/To a war that has no end.

It's a direct descendent of what he had done, Fogerty
notes. He influenced me so much. That's how I was able to
come up with it.

The admiration, it turns out, is mutual. Seeger recalls
actually writing to Fogerty upon first hearing his 1969
Creedence Clearwater Revival riverboat classic Proud Mary.

Some people sang it for the Clearwater way back 30 years
ago, Seeger recalls, referring to the Hudson River sloop
Clearwater, a 106-foot wooden boat designed in the style of
18th- and 19th-century Dutch sailing vessels. Seeger helped
launch the Clearwater in 1969 as a mobile classroom,
laboratory, stage and forum for preserving the nation's
threatened waterways, and he has championed its mission ever
since.

I loved the tune and the recording, Seeger adds, and when
I found out he wrote it, I got in touch and thanked him for
writing a song that people keep singing up and down the
Hudson.

SHARED PURPOSE

Fogerty remembers feeling extremely proud to receive
Seeger's missive, and notes the coincidence between the name
of his former band and Seeger's sloop. Certainly the motives
are exactly the same, he says. I was watching TV in late
'67 and saw an ad for a beer company showing a beautiful
forest with a sparkling brook running through it, and then I
think a government-sponsored (conservation spot) showing
another creek full of cigarette butts, Styrofoam cups and
trash -- back to back. That's where the 'clearwater' concept
came from.

Berkeley, Calif., native Fogerty actually met Seeger back in
the late '50s.

I was 11 years old, he says, at a Berkeley Folk Festival
that Pete hosted. I actually got his autograph! He was
wonderful, and I saw him dozens of times there over the years
and learned so much at his knee about people like Leadbelly
and songs with social conscience and intent. So 'Big Muddy'
made a big impression on me. It was such a

"Foreigners all love me. My problem is with Americans."

It has been suggested in many books that Henry Kissinger, former U.S. Secretary of State, was "a British agent-of-influence." These reporters point to the fact that in the 1980's, Henry A. Kissinger, before a gathering of the Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), told this illustrious group that he "had kept the British Foreign Office more informed and involved than his own government."
In further establishing where his real alliances were historians have pointed out that he received the highest honors of Knighthood from Queen Elizabeth. Is his Knighthood a Smoking Gun? Was Kissinger a double or even a triple Agent? Who knows?
But after hearing our video you may feel more informed about the answers to these questions.

[CTRL] Strange Disturbing Images In Bush Video

2004-10-12 Thread Bill Shannon
-Caveat Lector-

The Rumor Mill News Reading Roomhttp://www.rumormillnews.com

STRANGE DISTURBING IMAGES IN BUSH VIDEO - PT 3 *PIC*
Posted By: PROZZAK Send E-MailDate: Monday, 11 October 2004, 2:50 p.m.

The images below contain actual stills from George W. Bush's video 'Changing World.' I have chosen these particular frames not only for their content, but because anyone using a computer can download the file themselves and view these frames at their leisure. In the first collection of images, entitled "STRANGE IMAGES FOUND IN VIDEO", no adjustments have been made to the frames in ANY way. What you see is what the Public Relation's firm supplied. In the "COLLECTION OF DISTURBING IMAGES" collection, 2 stills have been adjusted by increasing the contrast of the image ONLY using Photoshop 7.0 in order that the images may be more readily seen. These images include the first two in the first collection of disturbing images. Many more will be included in Parts 4 and 5 of this series.
For those unfamiliar with subliminals I recommend that you learn about video subliminals in Part 2 of this 5 Part series entitled FEAR CONTROL.
http://www.rumormillnews.com/cgi-bin/forum.cgi?read=56957
For those unfamiliar with the video process, here are the basics. Each second of video that we view on television is comprised of 29.97, or approximately 30 frames per second of video. Each frame when viewed on the NTSC system, which is the North American standard (PAL is used in Europe at a slightly reduced frame rate) is further reduced/broken down into even and odd frames. Hence, the flicker than you receive when attempting to photograph a TV image screen. It is also this "flicker" that assists in putting us into a trance-like state. When one takes into account the additional odd/even frames there are a total of 60 pictures/images per second in a video. Multiply this number by 30 seconds, the length of the video discussed - and you have 1800 images to sift through!
Unlike my previous two installments, I offer no comments nor suggestions as to what these clips suggest nor mean. I leave it up to each reader to draw their own conclusions. Of course I have my own opinions, but at no time do I pretend to be like CNN, ABC, CBS or any other news agency that wants to put a spin on things. Are these images subliminals? Were they placed intentionally into the video? Do they have meaning? Well, YOU DECIDE.
Please feel free to email me with your comments at the link above.

CTRL is a discussion informational exchange list. Proselytizing propagandic
screeds are unwelcomed. Substance—not soap-boxing—please! These are
sordid matters and 'conspiracy theory'—with its many half-truths, mis-
directions and outright frauds—is used politically by different groups with
major and minor effects spread throughout the spectrum of time and thought.
That being said, CTRLgives no endorsement to the validity of posts, and
always suggests to readers; be wary of what you read. CTRL gives no
credence to Holocaust denial and nazi's need not apply.

Let us please be civil and as always, Caveat Lector.
