smile!! this is cute! Hilary the puppet of the puppet.

No I think when Bill is out of there, they are kind of done with him. He is
out to pasture... He is like the tissue president that he is. He is

Who the hell do they think they are fooling?!

Pay attention America; please do not let this become a reality!!

 -Caveat Lector-

www.WorldNetDaily.com
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 03 1999

Give back the church bells
Llewellyn H. Rockwell, Jr.

As long as we're on the subject, let's talk about another U.S. government
attack on a church.

One hundred years ago, during its war on Spain, the U.S. invaded the
Philippines, sprayed bullets far and wide, and put the entire country under
martial law. The result was costly for the U.S. -- it created a habit of
imperialist aggression that is still with us today. And it was also costly
for the Philippines: an entire generation suffered from the violence
associated with a brutal occupation, or the resulting disease and political
turmoil.

Now to the church. In Balangiga, the U.S. Army made slaves of the residents
and turned the place into a work camp. With indefatigable spirit, the local
residents decided not to take it anymore. Church bells of the local Catholic
parish began to ring, signaling a revolt, and 45 U.S. soldiers died. In
response, the American commander gave orders to murder "everyone in sight,"
which they promptly did. The result: as many as 50,000 dead Filipinos, among
whom were women and children.

A bit on the disproportionate side perhaps? Indeed, but like the FBI at
Waco, the U.S. military in the Philippines had only one end in mind: total
victory. Adding insult to massacre, the U.S. Army then stole the church
bells and took them to Warren Air Force base in Cheyenne, Wyo., where they
hang today. But now the parish in the Philippines wants them back, as a
symbol that all this is just ancient history. They even rebuilt the belfry
at the parish in anticipation of the bells' return.

But as we've seen in the Waco case, the U.S. government is notoriously
unwilling to admit error, particularly bloody, egregious error. Hence, so
far, the bells are not forthcoming, despite the attempt on the part of many
groups to intervene and put an end to the parading of religious objects as
war loot. No, instead Congress has passed a resolution forbidding the return
of war booty without its authorization.

In case you think the Filipinos are making an unjust demand, consider the
context. There was no justification for either the U.S. presence in the
Philippines or the violence with which the U.S. carried it out. At stake was
little more than a militarized trade dispute between Spain and the U.S.,
while Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines were caught in the
crossfire.

An American officer testified in a letter to the Philadelphia Ledger on Nov.
11, 1901: "Our men have been relentless, have killed to exterminate men,
women, and children, prisoners and captives, active insurgents and suspected
people, from lads of ten up, an idea prevailing that the Filipino was little
better than a dog."

And this gentlemen was writing in defense of the war!

Or consider this letter written before the invasion by another officer:
"There is no use in mincing words We exterminated the American Indians,
and I guess most of us are proud of it, or, at least believe that the end
justified the means; and we must have no scruples about exterminating this
other race standing in the way of progress and enlightenment, if it is
necessary."

Neither was this merely the attitude of a few recalcitrant soldiers. Using
religion as his cover, President William McKinley later justified his
behavior in similar terms. As he told a delegation of Methodist clergymen:

"I went down on my knees and prayed to Almighty God for light and guidance
... and one night late it came to me this way We could not leave (the
Philippines) to themselves -- they were unfit for self-government -- and
they would soon have anarchy and misrule over there worse than Spain's was.
... There was nothing left for us to do but take them all and educate the
Filipinos, and uplift and Christianize them."

Recall that the Philippines was largely Catholic, which the Protestant
ruling elite in this country did not consider to be a Christian religion.
And what better way to treat these supposed non-Christians than to starve
and kill them? In a similar way, the Branch Davidians were considered to be
a dangerous and

Comment:
This report is PR-based. It says that everything will be just fine next
week when the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issues its y2k report,
excepyt for 10% of the plants, which have not been identified.

*Will the NRC shut them down? Is the Pope
Jewish?

They knew that the plants are compliant, and will therefore pass the
trests next September when the plants can go off-line for testing without
raising rates, i.e., without cutting into company profits. This is
compliance based on faith.

It's true: these plants need power to shut down safely. So, they have
bought diesel generators.

But they need five months of power to shut down safely: to cool the
water.

Spent fuel storage

When removed from a reactor, a fuel bundle will be emitting both
radiation, primarily from the fission fragments, and heat. Spent fuel is
unloaded into a storage facility immediately adjacent to the reactor to
allow the radiation levels and the quantity of heat being released to
decrease.

These facilities are large pools of water; the water acts as both a shield
against the radiation and an absorber of the heat released. Spent fuel is
generally held in such pools for a minimum of about five months.

No problem. They'll just buy it from the grid. It's all planned for. Stop
worrying.

This is a Reuters story on YAHOO! (June 27).

* * * * * * * * * * *

The nuclear power industry, aiming to allay public fears of power
outages and radiation leaks, has stepped up efforts to make sure plants
are not vulnerable to the year 2000 computer bug.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will release next week
a report on exactly how ready each of the nation's 103 nuclear power
reactors are for the millennium date change. Nuclear reactors account
for about 20 percent of all U.S. power generation. . . .

''All of our plant shutdown systems are analog,'' said Robert Haverkamp,
manager of the Y2K project at Southern California Edison Co.'s
(AMEX:SCEq - news) San Onofre nuclear power plant in San Clemente,
Calif.

Nevertheless, Edison has, over the past 18 months, meticulously tracked
down and remedied all plant systems determined to be vulnerable to the
date change, he said.

`''will be reporting full readiness to the NRC on June 30,'' Haverkamp
said.

But operations-related systems at about 10 of the 103 reactors are not
expected to get a clean bill of health until later this year, Beedle said.

The trade group did not identify which plants are not yet up to snuff, but
emphasized that all are set to undergo maintenance work after power
demand has peaked for the summer. . . .

Like most nuclear reactors, the two operating units at San Onofre are
connected to the regional electricity grid, which brings in the necessary
power for cooling the plant and preventing any threat of meltdown.

As part of everyday operations, critical systems at nuclear plants are
designed with ''fail safe'' conditions, which automatically shut the plant
down if they are not met.

''Even if our worst fears come true and the grid goes down at midnight
on December 31 and we have a station blackout, the reactor shuts down
safely and we can restart after the clock changes,'' Beedle said.

The North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC), which oversees
delivery of electricity in the United States and Canada, said in March the
industry had completed more than 75 percent of the required testing and
remediation of its systems and nearly all were expected to be up to speed
by June 30.

Fewer than 3 percent of all components failed Y2K testing, with most
errors occurring in systems, such as schedule logs, that would not cause
the lights to go out, NERC said.

As a back up, the NRC requires every nuclear reactor to have on site at
least two diesel-powered generators to provide emergency power in case
of a failure in the grid connection.

If, for some random reason, those units were also to fail, nuclear
operators have established backup contingencies. Edison, for example,
has determined two transmission paths, one from San Diego and one
from Hoover Dam in Arizona, that could quickly supply the plant with
emergency power.

Officials said special attention has been paid to making sure that
bureaucratic conditions for plant operations will be met at the time

As far as 'voting' goes, this is another cute idea who's time has come and

DON'T VOTE ! IT JUST ENCOURAGES THEM.

The accumulation of wealth brings with it an accumulation of power and
influence disproportional to the actual numbers of wealthy groups, and
individuals existing in a society.
   1) I believe there is a way to break the hold of big money on the
Presidency, and other major political positions at the national governmental
level. This can be achieved by modifying our views on how to utilize the
electoral process to recapture and strengthen the limited democracy we had.
Whatever power voters had was stolen from the American people by U.S. and
foreign moneyed interests.
   2) Nullifying political bribery by the Duopoly can be accomplished in a
non-violent manner, and DOES NOT REQUIRE ACTIVE COOPERATION AMONG
GROUPS WITH DIFFERING IDEOLOGIES.

Please consider the following: The diversity and size of the U.S. plays
right into the hands of the ruling class and their institutions. It's easy
to
keep a society like this divided along natural fault lines. Class, race,
religion, gender, sexual preference, occupation, philosophical outlook,
regionalism, and multiculturalism, are some reasons that truly mass
movements
are almost impossible to organize in this country. The obvious exceptions
are
war, and disaster.
Though there are more people getting involved in grass roots politics,
they are organizing around narrow interests. I'm not belittling those
interests. I'm simply saying that the mass power of the public is not being
focused on the weak points in the system. Those are, the ability to
effect change through voting ( or not voting ), spending ( or not
spending ),
and paying taxes ( or withholding your taxes ).

The problem with voting, is that those who have stolen the democratic
process, present us with the option of picking any one of THEIR candidates
that we like. The process of running for any national office, is actually a
filtering process that "BOTH" parties use to insure that only those
acceptable to the ruling class will be presented to us for rubber stamping.
Thus, they have taken the choice out of our choosing process. Most people
now
realize that something is very wrong here, and are quite angry about it.
This
is not democracy.

Clinton was perceived as being politically weak, and forced to compromise
more than he really wanted to. Of course that didn't extend to pro business
issues like NAFTA and GATT and Fast Track.
Reagan, on the other hand was perceived as having won by a "landslide",
and
had a strong mandate to do anything he wished, while the press cowered
before
the will of the people. Consequently, he became the " teflon " president.
( Referring of course, to the substance between his ears.)
The point is, the importance of the perception of popular support.
Imagine
a President elected by only 35% or less. How difficult might it be for such
an unpopular elected official to raise taxes, cut social programs, get us
into an oil war, or turn our national forces over to the institutions of
World
