Once again local officials were given prior notice, but the townspeople were not. The report also featured some video, possibly amateur, of one of the helos, which are based in Kentucky. Terrified residents awoke to what sounded like an evacuation or a battle, and upon calling the police, were told it was a military excercise, and not to be alarmed. One Army official was interviewed, and said that no advance warning is given to the populace, to prevent curious onlookers from getting too near the site and possibly being injured. Now for some personal observations on this situation. I am outraged! This kind of activity is inexcusable. Since when is it acceptable for our own military to terrify sleeping american citizens? I am aware of the other similar reports filtering in from around the country, and I am having a difficult time believing that the purpose of these manuevers is a benevolent one. There are facilities available for training these guys for urban activities. There can only be one reason for engaging in this terrorist activity: To guage the reactions of civilians being introduced to martial law. It's time to contact congress. This also includes the newspaper. I'm not doubting your story, I just can't imagine something of this magnitude taking place and not having more of an expose. Can you explain why it was just Channel 5 that carried the story? Also, if you saw it carried by another medium, could you please elaborate? Thanks!
