The magnets are flat surfaced static field permanent magnets with poses on opposite sides of the flat surfaces. The negative pole side of the magnet is identified as "negative pole" printed on a green label sticker. I do not claim a cure for a degenerative disease or even guarantee relief of pain or insomnia by means of magnetics. My only claim is that there is evidence justifying a definitive controlled research project following Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) guidelines to determine the value and limitations of MAGNETIC RESONANCE BIO-OXIDATIVE THERAPY. These guidelines require a physician diagnosis and physician monitoring under the supervision of a Scientific Institutional Review Board. The application of magnetic fields to humans has been approved by the FDA which, based on toxicity studies has been classified as "not essentially harmful." William H. Philpott, M.D. ORIENTATION: Otto Warburg (1) was given a Nobel Prize for demonstrating that acid-hypoxia is the condition necessary for cancer to develop and grow. Others agree (2,3). Strangely, this fact has not been a part of traditional cancer research. A negative magnetic field producing an alkaline-hyperoxia is central to magnetic resonance bio-oxidation therapy. M. Rose (4) observed that the energy concentrated by the body to heal or regenerate a limb in a small animal is the energy that heals cancer. This was discovered by implanting cancer at the joint of the limb of a small animal and cutting this area. When the regeneration of that area occurred, the cancer died. Arthur Trappier et al (5) demonstrated that cancer cells exposed to a negative magnetic field discourages the growth of cancer and cancer cells exposed to a positive magnet field encourages the growth of cancer. Robert Becker (6) demonstrated that it is a negative electromagnetic field (negative magnetic field) that is necessary for healing to occur. The body concentrates a negative field at the site for healing. An external field of this same negative magnetic field will produce the same results as the body concentrating the negative magnetic field at the site for healing. A negative magnetic field acts directly on the bicarbonate buffer system by which a normal alkaline state can be maintained. A negative magnetic field serves as an energy activator for the oxidoreductase enzyme system which processes free radicals, peroxides, acids and aldehydes. A negative magnetic field provides the necessary alkaline-hyperoxia that is required to reverse cancer. Human biological life energy is produced by the oxidoreductase enzyme catalysis oxidation phosphorylation producing adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and oxidative remnant magnetism (a negative magnetic field). The process requires molecular oxygen in an alkaline medium. (alkaline hyperoxia). These two energies govern normal human metabolism. The adenosine triphosphate (ATP) energy bond necessary for cancer to grow is produced by fermentation. Fermentation requires acid hypoxia and cannot even function in the presence of alkaline- hyperoxia. The secret of treating cancer is to maintain continuously, an alkaline-hyperoxia state where the cancer is growing so that the cancer cannot make its ATP and therefore dies. It is very effective and fairly simple to treat a single cancerous lesion that is not interfering with basic functions such as, not blocking the gastrointestinal tract, or the bronchi, or not large enough to overwhelm the liver function. When there are metastatic lesions, it is more complicated because each lesion must be separately treated and it is necessary to be sure that all lesions are being treated. Also, metastatic lesions more often interfere with vital functions such as a massive infiltration of the lungs or the liver, or blockage of the gastrointestinal tract. Magnetic treatment cannot always win, because it cannot always override some of these factors. However, there is no question but that a negative magnetic field, if properly placed, can kill cancer. For this reason, it pays to try even in the face of metastatic lesions. All we can say at this point is that the evidences are such that definitive studies deserve to be made and only after this has occurred an! d been duly published in peer reviewed literature can a claim be made that a negative magnetic field is the cure for cancer. It will take some time before adequate research has firmly established the treatment of cancer with a negative magnetic field before this can become a party to traditional medicine. In the meantime, all we can say is that we are abundantly justified in doing this research. The FDA has classified magnetic application of magnetic fields to humans as "not essentially harmful." It is ethical to proceed with research in magnetics while following FDA guidelines for research. This requires medical supervision under an institutional review board. MAGNETIC THERAPY: The first principle of treatment of cancer is to provide a baseline of systemic treatment. This involves sleeping on a magnetic bed pad and sleeping with magnets at the crown of the head. The magnets in the bed pad are mini-block magnets 1 7/8 x 7/8 x 3/8 inch placed an inch and one-half apart throughout the bed pad. These have a manufactures rating of 3,950 gauss. It is also preferred that the subject place over this magnetic bed pad an eggcrate foam pad. This raises the subject slightly from this bed pad and makes a solid negative field. The magnets at the crown of the head are in a wooden carrier holding them firmly up against the headboard. They can be raised or lowered depending upon the height of the pillow. There are 4 of these magnets that are 6 x 4 x 1 inch placed 3/4 inch apart. This provides coverage of 18 inches across and 6 inches up and down. A person can turn from side to side and still be within the field. It is important that the head also be within! the 6 inches up and down. The top of the head should be no closer than 3 inches from the magnets. These magnets have a manufactures rating of 5,000 gauss. When asleep a person should also be treating the eyes and the abdomen. The reason for treating the head, eyes and abdomen is to raise melatonin. In the head, the pineal gland is the major producer of melatonin. The retina of the eyes produce melatonin. The intestinal tract wall produces melatonin. The eyes should be treated at night with a 5 x 6 inch multi- magnet flexible mat. This extends 6 inches from the forehead down to the tip of the nose. This is held in place with a 2 x 26 inch headband. This covers the maxillary sinuses, the frontal sinuses, the nasopharynx, the nose and the eyes. The magnetic field penetrating into the eyes can be reinforced by placing a neodymium disc magnetic on the outside of this pad over each eye. First, place a 2 x 3 inch or a 3 x 3 inch plastiform magnet on the mat directly over each eye and then place a 1 x 1/4 inch super neodymium disc magnet on top of this directly over the eyes. If there is any pressure in the eyes (glaucoma) then use a 5 x 12 inch multi-magnet flexible mat which will cover not only from the forehead to the tip of the nose but around the sides of the eyes and face. Then place the 2 x 3 inch or 3 x 3 inch plastiform and neodymium disc magnet on the top of this pad on the side of the eye. The multi-magnet flexible mat is composed of strips of plastiform magnet placed close together producing a flexible pad. The manufactures gauss strength of these magnets are 2,450. The neodymium disc magnets are 1 x 1/4 inch and have a manufactures rating of 12,300 gauss. There are other alternatives that can be used at night such as placing a 5 x 6 inch flexible mat on the side, front or back of the head, beyond using it on the face or a 5 x 12 inch multi-magnet flexible mat placed on the pillow so that either the back or side of the head is treated. Another alternative which can be very useful is a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch magnet placed up against the side, front, or back of the head. This can be stabilized so it won't tip over by attaching it to a metal bookend or taping to it a 2 inch angle iron on one end with the 2 inches extending out on the positive poled side. When this is used, the magnet can also be placed on the side of the head that is not on the pillow when a person! is on his side. The magnet should be extended far enough forward to cover the eye. Treating the head at right angles, that is from the top of the head as well as from the side of the head increases the value of the magnetic therapy. The subject should also sleep with a 5 x 12 inch multi-magnet flexible mat across the low abdomen-pubic area with a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch thick magnet placed lengthwise the body in the center of this magnetic mat. This can be held in place with a 4 x 52 inch body wrap. This will treat any bacterial, fungal, viral or parasitic infections within the pelvic area. The most important aspect of this is that it will encourage the wall of the gastrointestinal tract to produce melatonin. During the day, when sitting down, the subject should sit on a comfort chair pad that has 1 7/8 x 7/8 x 3/8 inch mini-block magnets an inch and one-half apart throughout the seat and the back. It is wise to slip under the seat of this comfort chair pad a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch thick magnet placed back far enough to radiate into the rectal/genital area. During the day, the subject should wear a magnet over the heart. This is best achieved with a 5 x 6 inch multi-magnet flexible mat. This can be held in place by pinning it to the clothing or preferably place the magnet between the inner and outer clothing, placing 2 neodymium disc magnets on the outer clothing to hold this in place. For example, in a man's shirt pocket, place one of the neodymium discs in the lower section of the pocket and another in the upper section of the shirt pocket. This not only will hold this mat in place but will also increase the gauss strength of the magnets to the heart. It is important to treat the heart since it will magnetize the water and the oxygen that flows through the heart and spreads this anti-inflammatory, free radical scavenger effect throughout the body. It also helps the body maintain its normal physiological alkaline state. The alkaline state is necessary because only then can molecular oxygen be present. In an acid state, ! molecular oxygen is tied up. Local treatment is the most important treatment of all. The rule is that the magnetic field has to be larger than the lesion being treated. The treatment has to be continuous with only brief breaks for such as taking a bath and so forth. The magnet should be placed directly over the lesion. If the lesion is raised, such as a melanoma, there needs to be a cushion, such as a corn pad. You do not want to put pressure on the lesion. For treating melanomas, if they are less than an inch across, the neodymium disc magnet is ideal. If they are less than an inch and one-half across, the ceramic disc magnet is ideal. The ceramic disc magnet is 1 1/2 x 3/8 inch with a gauss strength of 3,950. It is best to spread the field by first placing a 2 x 2 inch or a 3 x 3 inch plastiform magnet on the lesion with a neodymium disc magnet or a ceramic disc magnet on top of the plastiform magnet. If they are larger than this, then a plastiform magnet that is larger needs to be supplied. The plastiform magnets can be obtained in most any size de! sired. They come in strips that are either 2, 3, or 4 inches wide and can be made as long as is necessary. They also can be stacked together with 2, 3, or 4 of these to increase the gauss strength. The multi-magnet flexible mats have been devised for the purpose of providing a magnet that can fit around the curved surface such as a breast or a joint. The magnetic field can be spread and reinforced by placing a magnet on top of this, such as a ceramic disc or a neodymium disc. The multi-magnet flexible mat is particularly suitable for treating the breast. It is wise to provide a deeper penetration by providing a disc magnet on top of this mat directly over the lesion. Treating cancer is such an individualized matter that a physician should supply a statement as to the place and size of the lesion so that the research consultant can devise a correct size and depth of penetration for the treatment of that lesion. In a case of metastasis, every lesion has to be treated with a magnet field that is larger than the lesion being treated. BEYOND MAGNETISM: It is wise for the cancer patient to follow a 4-Day Diversified Rotation Diet. A large percentage of the subjects are reacting to foods, chemicals or inhalants. By rotating their foods, they will help the immune system to function better and put up a better fight against the cancer. Nutrition should be made optimum. A negative magnetic field is a free radical scavenger and also an activator of the oxidoreductase enzymes that process free radicals, peroxides, acids and aldehydes and also serves the optimum function of antioxidant value. CASE HISTORY: A physician, anesthesiologist, had a rapidly expanding abdomen and the development of weakness. When examined by oncologists, it was determined that he had cancer of the liver and of the spleen and that these two organs were so full of cancer that they were meeting in the middle. This is why his abdomen was swollen. His fetal protein test was high which is an indication of cancer of the liver. He was not provided hope with any traditional treatment. In casting about to discover what he might be able to do to help himself, he chanced to read a chapter on magnetism in the book, ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE. From this, he deducted how to treat himself. He placed the negative field of a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch thick magnet over the spleen and another over the liver. The swelling in both of these organs gradually receded. He didn't call me until he was already out of the woods. He called me to thank me for the information I had provided in the book, ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE. There is now ! no evidence that he has cancer. The fetal protein evidence has completely disappeared. He has not lost as much as a day's work. He treated himself successfully. He is a physician. I do not advise that cancer patients try to treat themselves without the guidance of a physician who understands magnetic therapy. A 20 year old male was diagnosed by traditional techniques to have a glioblastoma which infiltrated the brain tissues so extensively it could not be surgically removed. He was unconscious and incapable of making any response to environmental stimuli. The negative magnetic field from a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch thick ceramic permanent static field magnet with a gauss strength of 3,950 was placed on the back of his head. Three days later, he wiggled his fingers when spoken to. Three weeks later he walked out of the hospital, unsteady on his feet, but capable of walking. He continued the treatment on his brain for an extended period of time. It has been five years and there is no return of his tumor. An elderly male, duly diagnosed by biopsy, had cancer of the prostate with x-ray evidence of cancer of the bone in the sacroiliac area and on one of his hips. He was treated with magnets by sitting on a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch thick magnet on his genital/rectal area. He wore a 4 x 12 inch plastiform magnet across the lower abdomen with a 4 x 6 x 1/2 inch thick magnet directly over this radiating into the pubic area. He wore a plastiform magnet across the sacroiliac area and across the hips. Only negative magnetic fields were used. Three months later, his physician re-examined him and found no x-ray evidence of the bone metastasis. His PSA had receded from an initial 28 to a normal of 2. A woman in her 70's was treated magnetically for basal cell cancer of the forehead. The forehead had originally been sunburned. As these lesions would develop, they were removed and duly diagnosed as basal cell cancer. With six weeks of local negative field magnetic treatment the pathological area had dried up and pealed off without a scar. A 75 year old woman suddenly and, virtually overnight, developed a mole on her forehead from within the deep layers of the skin. The mole was black and red combined with a jagged perimeter with a very sore base. It grew to one inch across and 1/2 inch high in one week. It had penetrated the subcutaneous fat with fingers spreading for more than one inch. She elected to be a party to a medically supervised research project in bio-magnetics. The first week she was treated with the negative magnetic field of a neodymium disc magnet which is 1 x 1/4 inch and with a manufacturers rating of 12,300 gauss. She was treated only at night, during sleep. The mole continued to grow and the edges grew to more than one inch. A more vigorous time exposure to the magnetic field was obviously needed. The tumor was then exposed to the negative magnetic field of a ceramic disc magnet, 1 1/2 x 3/8 inch with a gauss strength of 3,950. She was then treated 24 hours a day. The tumor stopped! growing with 24 hour a day exposure to a negative magnetic field. It took one month of 24 hours a day treatment before the soreness at the base of the tumor disappeared. After the soreness disappeared, the tumor gradually began to recede and dry up. Ten weeks after daily treatment had begun, the tumor had dried up and skin had grown under the tumor and the tumor fell off. During sleep she breathed (by nasal catheter) oxygen that had been magnetized by flowing through a negative magnetic field. After the tumor had fallen off, there was a depression below the skin clear down to the bone. The depressed area continued to be treated with a neodymium disc magnet that is 1 inch across. She was being treated at night during sleep. After one week it was noticed that there was a small patchy area at the edge that was slowly growing again and had become sore. Twenty four hours a day of exposure to the ceramic disc magnet was again started and within 24 hours the soreness was gone! .. It took another three weeks for a complete healing to occur. A biopsy was not done. The reason for this was the concern that the biopsy might make metastasis occur. The diagnosis was made by the fact that it gave the physical appearance of a classic nodular malignant melanoma with invasion of subcutaneous fat. After the tumor had shriveled up and fallen off it was examined by a pathologist who provided the microscopic description of "keratin material, non-diagnostic". These are just examples that cancer is being successfully treated with a negative magnetic field. Certainly such evidence justifies detailed definitive research in the area of treating cancer by means of magnetic resonance bio-oxidative therapy. Such research is in progress. It definitely needs to be expanded into multiple research centers devoting time and effort to this subject.
