Fluoridation originated in El Paso, because the local water supply has naturally high fluoride levels, and the local population has low levels of dental caries [cavities], and some researchers put those facts together, did some research... and now fluoridated water and toothpastes are used worldwide. At the moment the only authority I have on hand is Hanna Kroeger, but the naturally occurring Calcium Fluoride that gives Texans great bones and teeth is not the "Sodium Fluoride" that is added to city water and is one of the most toxic substances known to man. [CTRL] fw: Fluoridation = Poisoning
-Caveat Lector- [forwarded warning] Keith, I read recently that fluoridation is back at the Nevada legislature. See what you can do about publishing the following in the R-J as a "letter to the editor". Thanks, Gary Dear Editor: The R-J recently reported that legislation has once again been introduced in the Nevada legislature to force or at least permit fluoridation of Clark County drinking water. I dont think adding rat poison (sodium fluoride) to our drinking water is a very good idea. The literature I have seen indicates that some people already may be ingesting too much fluorine. Other statements which caught my attention include: Most of the advanced European countries ban adding rat poison to drinking water. The Canadian Dental Association recommends: Fluoride supplements should not be recommended for children less than three years old. Rat poison causes premature aging, increased bone fracture rate, genetic damage, skin eruptions, high cancer rates, couch potato syndrome, demolition of the bodys immune system, and dental fluorosis (fluoride poisoning). The largest U.S. study on fluoridation and tooth decay, which was conducted by the US Public Health Service, of over 39,000 school children ages 5-17, from 84 areas around the U.S. showed that the number of decayed, missing, and filled permanent teeth per child was virtually the same in fluoridated and nonfluoridated areas. If the majority of Nevada state legislators still insist on adding rat poison to our drinking water, then at least provide Clark County voters the opportunity to vote for themselves whether or not they really want their water rates raised to pay for having rat poison added to their drinking water. Also, every hotel should have prominent signs by their drinking fountains reminding their guests of how wonderful it is to have their drinking water "improved" with rat poison. Sincerely, Gary C. -Caveat Lector- Just one point; Waco Texas - the commercial went somethin like this and it was either Crest (which may have been new) or Colgate."In a little town called Waco Texas, it was discovered .." Not that the location is that important; but it was Waco. One would have to go back to he original avertising when promotion was well in advance ofthe facts.Dwight Eisehower supported the fluoride in he water - he was parroting someone's propaganda; however, he may have been a great General but as President, he didn't eve know what a closed shop was. I believe it was CREST toothpaste all set to go. However, I stick by Waco, where he water was just full of it. DECLARATION DISCLAIMER == CTRL is a discussion and informational exchange list.
