This is a re-build with the new CLisp 2.49+. Maxima - Computer Algebra System Maxima is a system for the manipulation of symbolic and numerical expressions, including differentiation, integration, Taylor series, Laplace transforms, ordinary differential equations, systems of linear equations, polynomials, sets, lists, vectors, matrices and tensors. Maxima yields high precision numerical results by using exact fractions, arbitrary-precision integers and variable-precision floating-point numbers. Maxima can plot functions and data in two and three dimensions. Maxima is written in CommonLisp and based on the DOE Macsyma that was developed at MIT. Thank you Achim, The symbolic link works from a Cygwin bash shell but not from a Windows cmd or powershell. texinfo 4.7.* had a separate makeinfo.exe which was used by the native Heimdal build environment to generate docs from Microsoft nmake.exe. 4.7.* is still available for 32-bit Cygwin but is not available for 64-bit Cygwin. cygwin texinfo 5.2.2 missing makeinfo.exe
After installing the texinfo 5.2.2 and texinfo-tex 5.2.3 packages I am unable to find an installed makeinfo command in /usr/bin/. I do however find the makeinfo.1.gz man page contents. This is using a new install of Cygwin64. Is this an oversight? Any work arounds? Thanks for all of the hard work that is put into maintaining Cygwin and packages for it. The Windows IO-controls IOCTL_ATA_PASS_THROUGH or SMART_RCV_DRIVE_DATA possibly return some unexpected error code. This is typically a SATA driver issue. The output of smartctl -r ioctl,2 -i /dev/sda should provide more details. Could you possibly repeat the above test this with the native (non-Cygwin) Windows version of smartctl? This is likely not a Cygwin specific issue. Smartctl does not use any Cygwin functionality to do ATA/SCSI pass-through access. Cygwin and native version of smartctl share the same code.
