[ANNOUNCEMENT] Test: wxWidgets3.1 3.1.5-1

2021-12-17 Thread Hamish McIntyre-Bhatty via Cygwin-announce

Version 3.1.5-1 of "wxWidgets3.1" has been uploaded as a test package.

wxWidgets3.1 is a cross-platform GUI toolkit for GTK written in C++.

This update provides the following packages:

- wxWidgets3.1 (source package).

- wxWidgets3.1-debuginfo

- wxWidgets3.1-doc

- libwx_baseu3.1_5

- libwx_baseu3.1-devel

- libwx_gtk2u3.1_5

- libwx_gtk2u3.1-devel

- libwx_gtk3u3.1_5

- libwx_gtk3u3.1-devel

This update brings wxWidgets 3.1, which keeping the old wxWidgets3.0
package for compatibility.

The git repository at
https://cygwin.org/git-cygwin-packages/?p=git/cygwin-packages/wxWidgets3.1.git;a=summary
has also been updated.

There are quite a lot of changes here, and I have had to test manually,
so I would very much like feedback if anyone finds any problems with
these packages. I will mark them as stable in a few weeks if no issues
are reported and I find no problems myself.

I do aim to get the automated test suite to work one day, but I have had
no luck thus far.

Cheers,

Hamish

[ANNOUNCEMENT] [ANNOUNCEMENT] Stable: wxWidgets3.0 3.0.5.1-1

2021-01-08 Thread Hamish McIntyre-Bhatty via Cygwin-announce via Cygwin
Version 3.0.5.1-1 of "wxWidgets3.0" has been marked as stable.

wxWidgets3.0 is a cross-platform GUI toolkit for GTK written in C++.

This update provides the following packages:

- wxWidgets3.0 (source package).

- wxWidgets3.0-debuginfo

- wxWidgets3.0-doc

- libwx_baseu3.0_0

- libwx_baseu3.0-devel

- libwx_gtk2u3.0_0

- libwx_gtk2u3.0-devel

- libwx_gtk2u3.0-doc (obsolete)

- libwx_gtk3u3.0_0

- libwx_gtk3u3.0-devel

This update brings a newer, less buggy version of wxWidgets 3.0, and the
following changes have been made since the last version:

- Updated to wxWidgets 3.0.5.1 from 3.0.4.

- Added build dependencies.

- Evaluated lots of new patches (over 80), and found that nearly none of
them were needed (already patched in new source), so we only have a few
new patches.

- Updated the wxGTK collision patch for wxwidgets 3.0.5.1 as the old one
wouldn't apply.

- Use pushd and popd instead of cd in the cygport file.

- Enable automated unit tests in the cygport file (these currently do
work so I tested manually).

- Enable and test wxwebview with webkit (works fine in all configurations).

- Split BUILD_REQUIRES across two lines for definitely build time and
probably only runtime deps.

- Use system regex library explicitly.

- Removed obsolete --without-gnomeprint option.

- Use gnomevfs (old bug no longer seems to apply).

The git repository at
https://cygwin.org/git-cygwin-packages/?p=git/cygwin-packages/wxWidgets3.0.git;a=summary
has also been updated.

Cheers,

Hamish

2021-01-08 Thread Hamish McIntyre-Bhatty via Cygwin-announce

Cheers,

Hamish

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Test: python-wx-3.0.2.0-6

2020-12-14 Thread Hamish McIntyre-Bhatty via Cygwin-announce via Cygwin
Version 3.0.2.0-6 of "python-wx" has been uploaded as test.

python-wx is the Python 2 version of the cross-platform GUI toolkit,
wxPython.

This is the sixth revision, and it provides the following packages:

python-wx (the source package)

python2-wx (obsolete)

python2-wxversion

python2-wx3.0

python2-wx-debuginfo

python2-wx-devel

python2-wx-tools

python-wxversion

This update is a rebuild against wxWidgets3.0-3.0.5.1, as several things
such as webview are now enabled, and new patches have been used.

The git repository at
https://cygwin.org/git-cygwin-packages/?p=git/cygwin-packages/python-wx.git;a=summary
has also been updated.

There are quite a lot of changes here, and I have had to test manually,
so I would very much like feedback if anyone finds any problems with
these packages. I will mark them as stable in a few weeks if no issues
are reported and I find no problems myself.

Updated: python3-wx-4.0.7.post2-2

2020-07-09 Thread Hamish McIntyre-Bhatty via Cygwin-announce
Version 4.0.7.post2-2 of "python3-wx" has been uploaded.

python3-wx is the Python 3 version of the cross-platform GUI toolkit,
wxPython.

This is the second revision, and it provides the following packages:

python3-wx (the source package)

python3-wx-common (common files)

python3-wx-debuginfo

python36-wx (wxPython built for Python 3.6)

python37-wx (wxPython built for Python 3.7)

A package will be provided for Python 3.8 once python38-numpy has been
packaged.

This update introduces dependencies on python-imaging in order for
PyCrust and PyShell to work, and changes the menu item names for those
shortcuts to improve clarity.
