after recent update, svn tools exiting with code 57
I haven't been able to find any info related to this problem; hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. From time to time, I use setup.exe to update all the packages I have installed. After doing that earlier today, I found out that svn, svnadmin, and svnserve (and presumably all other svn tools) are exiting with code 57 and no error message, with complete disregard for command-line options. I currently have version 1.5.5-1 installed. I tried reverting to 1.5.4-1, and got the same results, so I'm assuming the problem is one of the other packages that got updated. Naturally, I don't know which packages got updated, nor do I know which packages svn depends on. Nothing else has given me any trouble yet. This crippling of svn is a major problem for me, so I hope someone can help me fix this. For version info, I'm using Windows XP with SP2, and following is the output from cygcheck -cv Cygwin Package Information Last downloaded files to: F:\cygwin-setup Last downloaded files from: ftp://mirror.mcs.anl.gov/pub/cygwin/ Package VersionStatus _update-info-dir00792-1OK alternatives1.3.30c-2 OK ash 20040127-4 OK aspell 0.60.5-1 OK aspell-en 6.0.0-1OK atk 1.10.3-1 OK atk-devel 1.10.3-1 OK Empty package atk-runtime atk-runtime 1.10.3-1 OK autoconf6-1OK autoconf2.1 2.13-5 OK autoconf2.5 2.63-1 OK automake3-1OK automake1.101.10.1-2 OK automake1.4 1.4p6-5OK automake1.5 1.5-3 OK automake1.6 1.6.3-5OK automake1.7 1.7.9-4OK automake1.8 1.8.5-4OK automake1.9 1.9.6-3OK base-files 3.7-1 OK base-passwd 2.2-1 OK bash3.2.48-21 OK bc 1.06-2 OK binutils20080624-2 OK bison 2.3-1 OK bzip2 1.0.5-2OK cdrecord1.1.7.1-1 OK Empty package clear clear 1.0-2 OK colordiff 1.0.7-1OK coreutils 6.10-2 OK crypt 1.1-1 OK csih0.1.8-1OK ctags 5.7-1 OK cygrunsrv 1.34-1 OK cygutils1.3.2-1OK cygwin 1.5.25-15 OK cygwin-doc 1.4-4 OK diffutils 2.8.7-1OK distcc 2.18.3-1 OK doxygen 1.5.5-1OK e2fsprogs 1.35-3 OK ed 1.0-1 OK editrights 1.01-2 OK expat 2.0.1-1OK file4.21-1 OK findutils 4.4.0-3OK fixesproto 4.0-1 OK flex2.5.35-1 OK font-alias 1.0.1-1OK font-bitstream-dpi751.0.0-1OK font-cursor-misc1.0.0-1OK font-encodings 1.0.2-1OK font-misc-misc 1.0.0-1OK fontconfig 2.6.0-1OK Empty package freetype2 freetype2 2.3.7-1OK gawk3.1.6-1OK Empty package gcc gcc 3.4.4-3OK gcc-core3.4.4-3OK gcc-g++ 3.4.4-3OK gcc-mingw-core 20050522-1 OK gcc-mingw-g++ 20050522-1 OK GConf2 2.14.0-2 OK gdb 6.8-2 OK gdbm1.8.3-8OK genisoimage 1.1.7.1-1 OK gettext 0.17-2 OK ghostscript 8.63-2 OK Empty package ghostscript-base ghostscript-base8.62-3 OK ghostscript-fonts-other 6.0-1 OK ghostscript-fonts-std 8.11-1 OK Empty package ghostscript-x11 ghostscript-x11 8.62-3 OK glib1.2.10-4 OK glib-devel 1.2.10-4 OK glib2 2.10.3-1 OK glib2-devel 2.10.3-1 OK Empty package glib2-runtime glib2-runtime 2.10.3-1 OK gmp 4.2.4-1OK gnome-keyring 0.4.8-1OK gnome-vfs2 2.12.2-1 OK gnupg 1.4.9-2OK gnuplot 4.2.4-1

Well, my network adapter isn't perfect, but it works fine 99.99% of the time. Even so, since the same exit code results even with --version or --help, I don't think the network adapter is to blame. -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://cygwin.com/docs.html FAQ: http://cygwin.com/faq/
