When I tried running Xwin.exe and ssh.exe using that RUN command on Vista, it caused a blue-screen crash of the OS. Clarification: This isn't a problem on Windows Vista Beta 2, it is a problem *with* Windows Vista Beta 2. cgf I'll of course be reporting the problem to Microsoft as well, since nothing the program does should cause a crash. Bingo! That's Chris' point. Could have sworn the Cygwin page stated "We don't support beta software" Depending on the version, SFU is supposed to be on there. It has posix support. This learned while playing with Windows XP SP 2 with SFU. Hi Anit, I'm having exactly the same problem, I need to get a Latin American keyboard running on Cygwin/KDE. Did you receive any feedback on how to get this working? I have other applications that create hidden windows, and they have no problem on Vista Beta 2. And from vbscript, I can launch programs with hidden windows, and they have no problem.
