On this little piece of despotism, my fellow Aussies have a few weeks

It's getting worse!

I have opted out, I recommend you all opt out - data centralisation
is just another step closer to an absolute fascist dictatorship.

And remember - we in Australia already have ABSOLUTELY despotic "anti
terror" laws, ON THE BOOKS, including:

 - indefinite detention

 - detention without being charged

 - detention without trial

 - criminal offence for family and friends to publicise the fact that
   you are detained

 - warrantless search, seizure, arrest and detention

 - warrantless meta data collection and indefinite storage (we are
   part of 5-eyes, now 6+ eyes)

 - rampant financial corruption (debt enslavement of the country/
   population, under the constitutionally illegal fiat debt system
   instituted upon us at Bretton Woods in 1947)

 - and an ongoing, overwhelming litany more


At least on this ridiculous back door to an "Australia" ID card, we
can (for the next few weeks) opt out.

Some would consider opting out, to be a wise decision.

And AFAIK that ex-cop in Philadelphia is still in jail for "forgetting"
his macOS password. I gather that there's no limit to sentences for
contempt of court. Basically, each time you don't comply, it's a new
contempt violation.

In a Tampa courtroom, Judge Gregory Holder held William Montanez
in contempt of court for failure to unlock a mobile device. What
led to this was a frightening slippery slope that threatens our
Fourth Amendment rights to the core. Montanez was stopped for failing
to yield properly. After being pulled over, the officer asked to
search his car; Montanez refused, so the officer held him until a
drug dog was brought in to give the officer enough probable cause
to search the vehicle. They found a misdemeanor amount of marijuana,
which they used to arrest Montenez, but they asked to search his
two cellphones, which he also refused. They were able to secure a
warrant for those as well, but Montenez claimed he had forgotten
his password. The result: Montanez is being held in contempt of
court and is serving a six-month jail sentence.

"I don't know the code, sir," he stated.
So the judge found him in civil contempt and threw him in jail.
