Google will no longer allow advertisers, publishers, and YouTube
creators to monetize content that denies the existence of climate
change. The Verge reports: The company detailed the changes in a
support document on Thursday. "Today, we're announcing a new
monetization policy for Google advertisers, publishers and YouTube
creators that will prohibit ads for, and monetization of, content that
contradicts well-established scientific consensus around the existence
and causes of climate change," the Google Ads team said in the
document. "This includes content referring to climate change as a hoax
or a scam, claims denying that long-term trends show the global
climate is warming, and claims denying that greenhouse gas emissions
or human activity contribute to climate change."

Google says it will use a mix of automated tools and human reviews to
enforce the policy. "When evaluating content against this new policy,
we'll look carefully at the context in which claims are made,
differentiating between content that states a false claim as fact,
versus content that reports on or discusses that claim," Google said.
Ads will still be allowed on climate topics like public debates on
climate policy, research, and more, according to Google.

Dishonest Tor relay math question - tor-talk is to lazy

2021-10-07 Thread PrivacyArms
Dear Cypherpunks community,

I came across a post on the Whonix forum recently. Since I am also interested
in this question I copied it here:
https://forums.whonix.org/t/math-behind-honest-tor-nodes/12464
http://forums.dds6qkxpwdeubwucdiaord2xgbbeyds25rbsgr73tbfpqpt4a6vjwsyd.onion/t/math-behind-honest-tor-nodes/12464

The question (edited):
How can I calculate how much impact X honest Tor relays have?
Is it better to calculate with bandwidth consumed (250Gbps), despite the number
of relays (~7000)?

Basically, I want to get the mathematical equation to this statement:
I run X Tor relays at Y Mb/s each and by doing so I secure Z % of the Tor
network!
Starting thoughts:
- Each “normal” route has three nodes involved: Guard, Middle, Exit
- I am aware of guard pinning and vanguard protection for middle relay pinning
- Maybe it is easier to assume an infinite usage time of the network to
eliminate guard and vanguard pinning
- I guess the best is to assume a scenario with 1%, 5%, 10%, etc. dishonest
relays

My take on this:
Tor has approximately 7000 relays.
If I consider a number of 5% malicious relays, this would be: 350
My calculation:
(1/(7000/350))*(1/(7000/349))*(1/(7000/348))
= 0.000123931
= 0.0123931%
1) Is my approach correct?
2) Not every relay has the same bandwidth. How could I change the calculation
to make it more realistic?
3) How can I add the effect of guard fixation?
4) How can I include the effect of mid-node fixation by the vanguard?

I would love to hear your thoughts about it and a concrete math equation would
be amazing.

Merrick's daughter, Rebecca Garland, is married to the co-founder of
an education resource company that pushes critical race theory - which
angry parents across the country are protesting. Taking matters into
his own hands, AG Garland tapped the FBI on Monday to huddle with
local leaders to address a "disturbing spike in harassment,
intimidation, and threats of violence" against teachers and school
board members.

As the Conservative Treehouse writes:

Well, well, well… This is interesting. U.S. Attorney General Merrick
Garland recently instructed the FBI to begin investigating parents who
confront school board administrators over Critical Race Theory
indoctrination material. The U.S. Department of Justice issued a
memorandum to the FBI instructing them to initiate investigations of
any parent attending a local school board meeting who might be viewed
as confrontational, intimidating or harassing.

Attorney General Merrick Garland’s daughter is Rebecca Garland. In
2018 Rebecca Garland married Xan Tanner [LINK]. Mr. Xan Tanner is the
current co-founder of a controversial education service company called
Panorama Education. [LINK and LINK] Panorama Education is the “social
learning” resource material provider to school districts and teachers
that teach Critical Race Theory.

Conflict of interest much?

Yes, the Attorney General is instructing the FBI to investigate
parents who might pose a financial threat to the business of his
daughter’s husband.

Screen-grabs and citations below:
(New York Times LINK)
(Panorama Education Services Link)

In June, several meeting attendees and newly elected board members at
the Moore County School District in North Carolina pushed back against
continuing their contract with Panorama - with one calling it an
"indoctrination platform" which aims to mold students into "social
justice warriors."

Those claims are based more on the company’s webinars and virtual
workshops for teachers than the surveys Moore County Schools plans to
conduct over the three-year term of the contract. The district would
pay $184,300 for Panorama’s services over that time period.

Before starting in on their business agenda Monday night, the
board heard from about 10 speakers who opposed the contract extension.

It’s now been more than eighteen months since governments began the
new social experiment now known as “lockdowns.”

Prior to 2020, forced “social distancing” was generally considered to
be too costly in societal terms to justify such a risky experiment.

Yet in 2020, led by health technocrats at the World Health
Organization, nearly all national governments in the world suddenly
and without precedent embraced the idea of lockdowns.

On the other hand, the Swedish regime rejected the idea.

For this act of iconoclasm, the Swedish government was pilloried by
media organizations and non-Swedish government officials worldwide.
The predictions of doom and of a widespread Swedish bloodbath were
ubiquitous. Months later, even when it became clear Sweden was not the
death-addled outlier many assumed it would be, it was common to see
articles declaring Swedish covid policy to be a “disaster.”

Even eighteen months later, as the Sweden-is-doomed narrative broke
down even more, critics of Sweden contort themselves to create an
anti-Swedish narrative. Consider this August 2021 article at Business
Insider, for example, which carefully slices and dices the data to
make Sweden’s outcomes look bad. The author slyly writes:

Since the start of the pandemic, roughly 11 out of every 100
people in Sweden have been diagnosed with COVID-19, compared with 9.4
out of every 100 in the UK and 7.4 per 100 in Italy. Sweden has also
recorded around 145 COVID-19 deaths for every 100,000 people — around
three times more than Denmark, eight times more than Finland, and
nearly 10 times more than Norway.

Note the sleight of hand used here. In one sentence, the comparison
focuses on diagnoses compared to the UK and Italy. This is surely
because actual deaths from covid are fewer per million in Sweden than
in either of the UK or Italy. Indeed, the author with this comparison
only succeeds in showing us that covid is less fatal in Sweden where
there are more cases but fewer deaths. The author then quickly changes
the subject to comparisons in deaths so as to make sure Sweden
compares unfavorably to Denmark, Finland, and Norway.

These claims are becoming increasingly desperate, since in terms of
excess deaths Sweden is better off than most of Europe overall, and
also better off than most other northern European countries. (And much
better than southern European countries.) Moreover, "excess mortality"
is a better measure of deaths in a given country since it provides a
broader view of the actual effects of both covid and covid policy.

Certainly, one can find some European regimes that had fewer deaths
proportionally. Norway, Denmark, and Finland have remarkably low
numbers of covid deaths compared to all of Europe.

But this fails to explain why Sweden’s non-bloodbath compares
favorably to most EU member states, including France, Italy, Spain,
the Netherlands, and others.

For example, as of late August, excess mortality in Sweden was
approximately 785 per million people. In France, the total is 988 per
million, and in Spain, it is 1,917 per million. In EU nonmember the
United Kingdom, the total is 1,657 per million.

This trend was already becoming apparent months ago, and in March
Reuters reported,

Sweden had 7.7% more deaths in 2020 than its average for the
preceding four years. Countries that opted for several periods of
strict lockdowns, such as Spain and Belgium, had so-called excess
mortality of 18.1% and 16.2% respectively…. Twenty-one of the 30
countries with available statistics had higher excess mortality than
Sweden.

Other data, also according to Reuters, "which included an adjustment
to account for differences in both the age structures and seasonal
mortality patterns of countries analysed," Placed Sweden at eighteenth
out of twenty-six in terms of mortality. The "highest" ranked—that is,
the worst ranked—were Poland, Spain, and Belgium.

Another way of comparing Sweden to the rest of Europe is to look at
excess mortality in 2020 and 2021 compared to “average monthly deaths”
from 2016 to 2019.

In the time since February 2020, total deaths (measured as a
percentage of the 2016–19 average) were

As Dr. Fauci and other top public health officials in the US (along
with their Big Pharma allies) continue to push for mandatory
vaccinations for increasingly younger patients which could soon extend
to babies as young as 6 months), health authorities in Sweden - which
saw fewer excess deaths than its neighbors despite avoiding lockdowns
during the initial wave of the COVID pandemic - have decided to stop
giving the Moderna jab to anyone born in 1991 or later.

The Swedes were joined a few hours later by health authorities in
Denmark, who suspended use of Moderna's jab in patients aged 18 and
younger.

For context, the Modern jabs were found to be more likely to cause
dangerous inflammation in the heart by at least one study - to
patients born in 1991 (meaning anyone 30 and younger).

“The Swedish Public Health Agency has decided to suspend the use
of Moderna’s vaccine Spikevax, for everyone born 1991 and later, for
precautionary reasons," it said in a statement.

"The cause is signals of an increased risk of side effects such as
myocarditis and pericarditis. However, the risk of being affected is
very small."

But the Swedes aren't limiting use of all the mRNA jabs. Instead of
the Moderna vaccine, the Swedish health agency says it's going to
recommend the Pfizer jab for people in this age range instead, as
those in the age range who have already received one Moderna jab will
not be receiving a second (it's not clear whether they will be
receiving a dose of Pfizer instead).

The EMA, the EU's medicines regulator, first approved the Pfizer jab
for young people back in May, while the Moderna jab was approved for
children over 12 in July.

The news sent Moderna shares even lower in premarket trade.

Generally speaking, the EMA, along with local European health
authorities, have been far more cautious about approving vaccines than
their American counterparts, and have also imposed more restrictions
related to age.

The news will likely prompt other Scandinavian health authorities to
review their stance on Moderna and other jabs. After the
announcements, shares of Moderna turned even lower premarket.

US Investigates Moderna Jab After Data Show 2.5x Higher Risk Of Heart
Inflammation

The Internet's social-media censors have been extremely vigilant at
suppressing every tidbit of COVID vaccine "misinformation" that comes
their way. So, as readers might imagine, drawing attention to publicly
released data about the rare (but sometimes deadly) side effects
associated with both mRNA and adenovirus-vector jabs has been...a
challenge.

Hey @jack what happens to all those who were banned for warning
about this?https://t.co/E9mFoFLqGS
— zerohedge (@zerohedge) August 20, 2021

But let's back up: over the past couple of months, health authorities
in the US and Israel connected rare instances of myocarditis - that
is, inflammation of the heart - to the mRNA jabs produced by Pfizer
and Moderna. After a hurried secret meeting with its advisors in late
June, the FDA reluctantly released a warning about a "likely
association" between incidences of myocarditis and the new side
effects.

And now, a new twist: On Thursday evening, the Washington Post
published a report claiming that the Moderna coronavirus vaccine may
be associated with a higher risk of myocarditis in younger adults than
previously believed. The report relies on new data from a Canadian
study that has yet to be released.

How much more dangerous is the Moderna jab than the Pfizer? Well, the
preliminary data leaked to WaPo show the risk of myocarditis might be
as much as 2.5x higher for the Moderna jab.

The news represents the latest bump in the road for Moderna's
high-flying stock, as patients (especially younger men in their 20s
and 30s deemed at highest risk to suffer the side effect) now have an

https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/australias-two-largest-states-trial-facial-recognition-software-police-pandemic-2021-09-16/

In a move that again highlights how far toward a complete tyranny
Australia has become in the wake of COVID, citizens are being mandated
to provide geo-trackable selfies to police to prove they are staying
at home.

A report from 9 News in Australia details how people in Victoria are
now required to respond to the authorities within 5 minutes of them
randomly calling by sending a selfie of themselves at home. If they
fail to respond, health goons are sent to their address to dish out
punishments.

The reporter notes “Today the call has gone out to everyone in home
quarantine in Victoria to take part in a pilot program. And what that
means is they will receive random phone calls and they will have to
answer within five minutes with a selfie sent to an app which will
then geo-track where that person is and to make sure they are who they
say they are as well.”

“If they don’t answer within the five minutes that’s when health
ministers come knocking,” the reporter creepily adds.

Watch:

Reuters reported on the scheme earlier this month, noting that it is
being trialled in “New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria, home to Sydney,
Melbourne and more than half of Australia’s 25 million population.”

The technology involved uses facial recognition, but health
authorities have refused to comment on the scheme.

Reuters notes that “Under the system being trialled, people respond to
random check-in requests by taking a ‘selfie’ at their designated home
quarantine address. If the software, which also collects location
data, does not verify the image against a “facial signature”, police
may follow up with a visit to the location to confirm the person’s
whereabouts.”

It is something that was previously suggested for use in Britain, but
was abandoned over fears of privacy invasion.

A literal government surveillance mandate.

https://t.co/66cF6ltzLs
— Joe Weisenthal (@TheStalwart) September 30, 2021

To be blunt, this claim is horse puckey and pseudo-legal in nature.

Below I explain why...
The statute doesn’t authorize a trillion dollar coin

Congress grants authority to the Executive Branch all the time to do
certain acts and promulgate certain regulations. It does this through
Acts of Congress which delegate that authority to the Executive
Branch.

Understanding what authority is granted, and its extent, requires us
to read carefully the terms – the text – of the legal rules which
govern the conduct of the Executive Branch. For example, in 2020-2021
the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC,
instituted an eviction moratorium which barred landlords of property
subject to federally insured mortgages from evicting their tenants. It
did so in reliance of a grant of authority from Congress.

As statutory authority for the moratorium, the CDC relied
exclusively on Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act. See id.
at 55,297. Enacted in 1944, this provision delegates to the Secretary
of Health and Human Services the authority to “make and enforce such
regulations as in his judgment are necessary to prevent the
introduction, transmission, or spread of communicable diseases” across
States or from foreign lands, 42 U.S.C. § 264(a), who in turn has
delegated this power to the CDC, 42 C.F.R. § 70.2.

Section 361 reads in relevant part:

The Surgeon General, with the approval of the Secretary, is
authorized to make and enforce such regulations as in his judgment are
necessary to prevent the introduction, transmission, or spread of
communicable diseases from foreign countries into the States or
possessions, or from one State or possession into any other State or
possession. For purposes of carrying out and enforcing such
regulations, the Surgeon General may provide for such inspection,
fumigation, disinfection, sanitation, pest extermination, destruction
of animals or articles found to be so infected or contaminated as to
be sources of dangerous infection to human beings, and other measures,
as in his judgment may be necessary.

In a similar way, Congress also delegates authority to the Secretary
of the Treasury to mint coins. The relevant provision for the “Mint
the Coin” movement is sub-section (k) of 31 U.S. Code § 5112, which
states in relevant part:

The Secretary may mint and issue platinum bullion coins and proof
platinum coins in accordance with such specifications, designs,
varieties, quantities, denominations, and inscriptions as the
Secretary, in the Secretary’s discretion, may prescribe from time to
time.

A number of adherents of an expansionary monetary ideology called
“Modern Monetary Theory,” or “MMT,” and some of their friends in the
media, including a pet legal academic of the movement who wrote a
75-page paper on the subject, appear to think that this statute
authorizes the Treasury to mint a $1 trillion coin.

And again, I'd just point out that @PhilipNDiehl -- who authored
the law's precise wording along with former Rep. Mike Castle of
Delaware -- came to the same conclusion, upon being presented with
@mucha_carlos' interpretation of the statute. https://t.co/gwpYxKEa8w
— Joe Weisenthal (@TheStalwart) September 30, 2021

On a very cursory reading it certainly seems possible that this
statute could authorize minting a $1 trillion coin, as long as the
coin were a platinum proof coin.

Florida Gov. DeSantis Promises To Defend Parents At School Board
Meetings Against DOJ

https://www.theepochtimes.com/florida-gov-desantis-promises-to-defend-parents-at-school-board-meetings-against-doj_4034859.html
https://twitter.com/RepKenBuck/status/1445449843376156674

Following a Department of Justice announcement Monday that it would
direct the FBI to mobilize against parents who allegedly threaten
teachers and school board members, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis promised
that the state would defend parents amid GOP outcry against the move.

“Attorney General Garland is weaponizing the DOJ by using the FBI
to pursue concerned parents and silence them through intimidation,”
DeSantis wrote.

“Florida will defend the free speech rights of its citizens and
will not allow federal agents to squelch dissent.”

The Justice Department stated that it would create a task force to see
how the federal government can be used to prosecute any criminal
conduct toward teachers or how to assist state and local authorities
investigate such threats. It came after a national association of
school boards asked the Biden administration to use “extraordinary
measures” to prevent alleged threats against school board staff,
accusing parents who oppose teaching critical race theory and mask
mandates of lodging them.

DeSantis’s office on Tuesday released a statement saying Florida law
already prohibits harassment of teachers, while adding that Florida
law enforcement is “perfectly capable of responding to crimes in
Florida, and we have never heard the FBI suggest otherwise.”

“However, disagreement is not harassment. Protest is not
terrorism, unless it involves rioting, looting, and assault, like some
of the left-wing protests of summer 2020. Again, all of those actions
are crimes in Florida and will be prosecuted, regardless of political
context,” the statement added.

According to the Justice Department, it will create a task force to
determine how to use federal resources to prosecute offending parents
along with how to provide advice to states where no federal laws have
been broken. Training will also be provided to school staff members on
how to report threats from parents.

During school board meetings across the United States over the past
several months, heated discussions have been held by parents,
teachers, and school board staff on whether critical race theory or
associated ideologies should be taught to children. The Department of
Justice’s announcement did not elaborate on whether threats against
teachers and staff are widespread.

This week, Republican lawmakers sharply criticized the Justice
Department and Attorney General Merrick Garland’s directive, arguing
the Biden administration is attempting to silence dissent.

“Your memorandum is a politically-motivated abuse of power and
displays a lack of reasoned, sound judgment … confronting parents to
oppose the views of the Biden administration and its socialist
agenda,” wrote Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) in a letter to the agency.

“Parents are speaking out against Critical Race Theory in schools. Now
the Biden administration is cracking down on dissent,” Sen. Tom Cotton
(R-Ark.) wrote on Twitter.

Senator Tom Cotton warned Monday that hundreds of unvetted and
undocumented refugees rescued from Afghanistan are fleeing military
bases within the U.S.

Cotton detailed the incidents in a letter to Department of Homeland
Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, writing “it is alarming
that hundreds of Afghan evacuees have reportedly left U.S. military
bases directly into our communities, possibly before completing our
vetting and immigration processes.”

Reuters picked up on the fact that that at least 700 Afghans have
escaped U.S. bases in Wisconsin, Virginia, Texas, Indiana, New Mexico,
and New Jersey.

The report notes that at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, more than 300
Afghans have left since they started arriving a few weeks ago.

The Biden administration has outlined plans to bring at least 95,000
Afghans to the U.S., yet hundreds are being allowed to leave without
completing the resettlement process.

“A more extensive review and vetting process is absolutely
essential for the tens of thousands of unknown Afghans who were
airlifted during the evacuation,” Cotton further wrote.

The Senator also documented several cases of criminal behaviour among
the evacuees.

“The U.S. government is currently investigating multiple crimes
committed in evacuee facilities,” Cotton wrote, adding “The American
people have seen reports of a group of male Afghan evacuees assaulting
a female servicemember at a Fort Bliss facility in New Mexico.”

Cotton continued, “An Afghan evacuee allegedly sexually assaulted
young boys at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Another Afghan evacuee
reportedly choked his wife at Fort McCoy.”

“The State Department has raised concerns about child trafficking
by older Afghan men. Even previously-deported criminals — including an
Afghan who had previously been convicted of rape in the United States,
and another who had previously been convicted of aggravated robbery —
were airlifted back to the United States,” Cotton added.

The Senator is asking for a response by the end of the week, while the
Biden administration has refused to comment on details of the evacuees
brought to the U.S. from Afghanistan.

The Chinese province that was the initial epicenter of the Covid-19
outbreak made significant purchases of equipment used to test for
infectious diseases months before Beijing notified international
authorities of the emergence of a new coronavirus, according to
research by a cybersecurity company. The province's purchase of
polymerase chain reaction, or PCR, testing equipment, which allows
scientists to amplify DNA samples to test for infectious disease or
other genetic material, shot upward in 2019, with most of the increase
coming in the second half of the year, the Australian-U.S. firm
Internet 2.0 found. Hubei province is home to Wuhan, the large Chinese
city where the first known cases of the virus emerged. The World
Health Organization reported that its China Country Office was
informed on Dec. 31, 2019, that cases of pneumonia from an unknown
cause had been detected in the city.

Based on the research, Internet 2.0 concluded with "high confidence
that the pandemic began much earlier than China informed the WHO about
Covid-19," according to the report. The cybersecurity firm, which
specializes in digital forensics and intelligence analysis, called for
further investigation. But several medical experts said the Internet
2.0 report wasn't enough information to draw such conclusions. For one
thing, PCR testing, which has been in broad use for several decades,
has been been growing in popularity as it has become a standard method
to test for pathogens, according to one of the experts. In addition,
PCR equipment is widely used in laboratories to test for many other
pathogens beside Covid-19, including in animals, and is commonly found
in modern hospitals and labs. China was also dealing with an outbreak
of African swine fever across the country in 2019.

Activists are Designing Mesh Networks to Deploy During Civil Unrest

The Mycelium Mesh Project is testing DIY networks that can be quickly
deployed on trees or lamp posts during a political uprising.

Imagine waking up and checking your phone after several evenings of
mass demonstrations. You try scrolling through your Twitter feed, but
it won’t load. You turn your router off and on to no avail. You try
texting a friend to complain, but the message fails to send.
Frustrated, you walk outside. People scattered along the sidewalk look
as disoriented and confused as you feel—except for police officers and
the National Guard, who are forcefully telling everyone to immediately
return to their homes over a loudspeaker.

Currently, most of us would have no choice but to retreat into
isolation in such a situation. But organizers and programmers with the
Mycelium Mesh Project are hoping to provide a solution by designing a
decentralized, off-grid mesh network for text communications that
could be deployed quickly during government-induced blackouts or
natural disasters.

“The network that we all use will work pretty much fine in 99.9% of
the cases. But then when it doesn't, it's a real big problem,” Marlon
Kautz, an organizer and developer with the project, told Motherboard.
“The authorities' control over our communications infrastructure can
just completely determine what is politically possible in a situation
where the future is really up for grabs, where people are making a
move to change things in a serious and radical way.”

Mesh networks, a form of intranet distributed across various nodes
rather than a central internet provider, have the potential to
decrease our collective reliance on telecommunication conglomerates
like Spectrum and Verizon. Nonprofits, like NYC Mesh, are increasingly
offering relatively affordable internet alternatives by installing
mesh nodes at people’s homes, which then connect to “supernodes” and
the internet at large. One such network was set up at an encampment
outside city hall in New York City, during the height of last summer's
protests against police violence.

During a civil unrest situation, government operatives could
theoretically disconnect established commercial mesh networks by
raiding activists' homes and destroying their nodes or super nodes.
The Mycelium Mesh Project is addressing this potential weak link by
developing a system that could be deployed at a moment’s notice in
non-locations, such as on abandoned buildings, tree tops, electric
boxes and utility poles.

Nodes would be cheap, run independently of the power grid, and could
be produced with materials that can be obtained locally. So far, the
collective has successfully sent and received text messages across
thirteen miles during field testing around Atlanta, Georgia with nodes
powered by rechargeable batteries harvested from disposable vapes.

The scenario they are prepping for is less far-fetched than it may
initially seem. In 2011, the Bay Area Rapid Transit System (BART)
police shut down wireless service

Calling out the lie

"Merck stock surged 10% Friday after it said its investigational pill
cuts the risk of hospitalization and death in COVID-19 patients...The
pill reduced the risk of hospitalization or death by about 50%,” Merck
and its partner, Ridgeback Biotherapeutics, said in a statement
Friday.

"This is a phenomenal result. This is a profound game-changer to
have an oral pill that had this kind of effect, this magnitude of
effect in patients who are at high risk who are already symptomatic,"
former FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb said Friday on CNBC about
results of the interim analysis.

"Meanwhile, shares of COVID vaccine makers Pfizer and Moderna fell
2.5% and 10%, respectively."

This puts Dr. Scott Gottlieb between a rock and a hard place.

On the one hand, as a member of Pfizer's Board of Directors, he is
paid handsomely to attend a few board meetings per year, yet on the
other hand, he must not be too glowing in his praise of the antiviral,
which might lead people away from the Pfizer vaccine. Moreover, it
could affect sales just as it has already dropped the stock price.

In 2020, Gottlieb was paid $338,587 by Pfizer. In 2020, he also earned
$525,850 as a director of Illumina. Due to his former FDA Chief
status, Gottlieb is in high demand as one word of favor from him can
send a stock price soaring.

He has served on multiple other boards, including Tempus Labs,
National Resilience, and the Mount Sinai Health System. It must be a
daunting task to walk the line by promoting one corporate interest
while not offending any of the others.

But the good news is that soon, Pfizer, too, will be peddling their
antiviral drug, which

WHO Approves First Malaria Vaccine After 30 Years Of Development

https://www.wsj.com/articles/worlds-first-malaria-vaccine-gets-who-backing-for-sub-saharan-africa-11633535575

More than three decades after scientists at GlaxoSmithKline started
developing it, a malaria vaccine was finally approved Wednesday by the
WHO. The vaccine could help save the lives of 400,000 people who still
succumb to malaria every year (more than 50% are children under 5),
most in sub-Saharan Africa. The vaccine is formulated for inoculating
young children as well as adults.

Per WSJ, the WHO's endorsement is a critical step for enabling
production and the rollout of the jab, which unfortunately could take
years to come into wide use across the continent of Africa.

The malaria jab will be administered in four doses. It has already
been used to inoculate more than 800K children in Ghana, Kenya and
Malawi as part of a long-running pilot program.

In a press release announcing its approval, the WHO said the jab
offers "a glimmer of hope" for the Continent's most vulnerable
children and others.

"Today’s recommendation offers a glimmer of hope for the continent
which shoulders the heaviest burden of the disease and we expect many
more African children to be protected from malaria and grow into
healthy adults," said WHO Regional Director for Africa Matshidiso
Moeti in the release.

Notably, the vaccine - called TS,S or Mosquirix - is the first jab to
ever be deployed against a parasitic disease. The jab was designed to
work against Plasmodium falciparum, the most common malaria parasite
in Africa, and the deadliest.

“This is a historic moment. The long-awaited malaria vaccine for
children is a breakthrough for science, child health and malaria
control,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in the
press release.

But before anybody gets too excited, WSJ points out that the vaccine
was only shown to reduce severe malaria cases by 30%. Because of this,
and the difficulty of distribution, it could take years to see how
effective the vaccine is in the real world.

While it typically doesn't overwhelm hospitals, malaria has been
steadily killing people by the hundreds of thousands for years.

Yet its development and approval wasn't considered an emergency?

Shocking & Dehumanizing Discrimination Against The Unvaxx'd Is About
To Make Life Very Difficult

https://www.theorganicprepper.com/unvaccinated-discrimination/

https://www.theorganicprepper.com/covid-vaccine/
https://museeholocauste.ca/en/resources-training/the-process-of-othering/
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2021/feb/27/it-is-only-a-matter-of-time-before-we-turn-on-the-unvaccinated

All over the world, the hot-button subject of the moment is the Covid
vaccination. Many governments discuss making it mandatory, a
terrifying concept for people who believe that the vaccine is unsafe.
But perhaps even more appalling are the shocking things that people
are saying about those who are unvaccinated.

This article isn’t about whether the vaccine is safe or not. I’m not
urging anyone to get the vaccine, nor am I urging anyone to avoid it.
I believe that my health decisions are my choice, and yours are your
choice.

I hope that when you read these comments, whatever side of the debate
you are on, you stop and think about your humanity. If this were done
to any other group of people, it would be considered hate speech.
Because the mainstream media and the narrative are tightly controlled
right now, this isn’t just thought of as acceptable but a signal of
superior virtue.

The danger of “othering”

We already talked about how people would be “encouraged” to get the
vaccine through a loss of liberty “privileges.” By now, those eager to
get the vaccine have done so. Also, those with valid reasons (like
loss of income) have also gotten the jab. Therefore, holdouts who
remain adamant they won’t get the vaccine are now being exposed to a
whole new level of “encouragement” via extreme social pressure.

A phenomenon called “othering” is used in both the violence dynamics
world and in brainwashing. Othering is when a person determines that
another person is unworthy, threatening, or all-around inadequate and
hardly even the same species.

Othering is a process whereby a group of people is made to seem
fundamentally different, even to the point of making that group seem
less than human. This process can trigger instinctive emotional
reactions towards members of that group. In many instances, othering
has been used to degrade, isolate, and render possible a group’s
discrimination, abuse, or persecution. (source)
Those who don’t learn from history…

It has happened many times in history: when human beings were used as
slaves and property, when human beings were the subject of horrific
experiments when the media and people in power deliberately
manipulated human beings to believe that other humans weren’t like
them, and therefore, it was permissible to mistreat or abuse them.

As the saying goes, those who don’t learn from history are doomed to
repeat it. And repeat it, they are. I think, regardless of our stance,
we can all agree that fervently wishing for bad things to happen to
those who believe differently and dehumanizing them for their beliefs
is pretty awful.
People have come out with appalling suggestions for those who aren’t vaccinated.

Don Lemon of CNN believes the unvaccinated should not be allowed to
buy food or work. Does this mean he believes that they should starve
to death?

If you had any doubt, Lemon also thinks people who are unvaccinated are idiots.

“How many people have to die,” Lemon asked, saying “if behavior is
idiotic and nonsensical, I think that you need to tell people that
their behavior is idiotic and nonsensical.” (source)

CNN medical analyst Dr. Jonathan Reiner says that unvaccinated people
shouldn’t go to bars and restaurants. A doctor pondered the ethics of
whether he could refuse to see unvaccinated patients in The New York
Times.
It’s becoming popular to blame the unvaccinated for all future cases of Covid

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s Big Kahuna of Covid, blames those not
vaccinated for a new spike in cases.

“We have 100 million people in this country … who are eligible to
be vaccinated, who are not vaccinated,” Fauci said in an interview
with “Face the Nation.”

“We’ve really got to get those people to change their minds, make
it easy for them, convince them, do something to get them to be
vaccinated because they are the ones that are propagating this
outbreak.” (source)

Columnist Leana Wen of Washington Post believes the unvaccinated are
dishonorable. Wen called upon the CDC to mandate masks for everyone
because of it.

We need a return to indoor mask mandates not because the
vaccinated are suddenly a problem, but because we don’t trust the
unvaccinated to do the right thing voluntarily. It’s not a commentary
about the effectiveness of the vaccine or even

Woman denied voluntary transplant at behest of State is about to die...

Colorado Hospital Set To Deny Kidney Transplant For Unvaxxed Woman

https://denver.cbslocal.com/2021/10/05/uchealth-kidney-transplant-covid-vaccine/

Now that vaccines are widely available and 56% of the US population is
vaccinated (significantly missing President Biden's Jul. 4 target of
70%), a little less than half of the country is unvaxxed and subjected
to shocking and dehumanizing discrimination, making life very
stressful.

Across the country, the hot-button subject entering the fall is COVID
vaccination passes for restaurants and football stadiums in certain
cities, counties, and or even states. This has made life painful for
the unvaxxed (as planned by the administration) who can't go to their
favorite eatery or cheer on their favorite sports team.

However, the latest discrimination story of an unvaxxed person is terrifying.

A Colorado woman with stage 5 kidney failure is scrambling to find a
new hospital because she and her donor are unvaxxed, and the hospital
system has given them 30 days to get vaccinated or be taken off the
transplant list.

UCHealth, a healthcare system headquartered in Aurora, Colorado,
adopted new transplant rules requiring patients to be fully
vaccinated.

"Here I am, willing to be a direct donor to her. It does not affect
any other patient on the transplant list," Jaimee Fougner, Leilani
Lutali's kidney donor, told Colorado-based news station CBS4.
(credit: Leilani Lutali and Jaimee Fougner)

"How can I sit here and allow them to murder my friend when I've got a
perfect kidney and can save her life?" Fougner said.

Lutali received a letter from UCHealth last week explaining she and
Fougner had until the end of October to begin the vaccine process, or
they would be removed from the transplant list.

"I said I'll sign a medical waiver. I have to sign a waiver anyway
for the transplant itself, releasing them from anything that could
possibly go wrong," said Lutali. "It's surgery, it's invasive. I sign
a waiver for my life. I'm not sure why I can't sign a waiver for the
COVID shot."

In August, UCHealth told Lutali that being vaxxed wouldn't be a
requirement for the surgery. "At the end of August, they confirmed
that there was no COVID shot needed at that time," she said. "Fast
forward to Sept. 28. That's when I found out. Jamie learned they have
this policy around the COVID shot for both for the donor and the
recipient."

Lutali received this letter from the hospital:

Both met at bible study almost a year ago, and for either religious
reasons or too many uncertainties, they refuse to take the vaccine.

"It's your choice on what treatment you have. In Leilani's case,
the choice has been taken from her. Her life has now been held hostage
because of this mandate," Fougner added.

They're still searching for a hospital in Colorado that will do the
transplant for unvaxxed people. This is the latest in the shocking
discrimination against unvaxxed people.

Biden, the Asshole Tera-$tatist no one wants in their life...

Biden, Bargaining, & Betrayal: It's Not The Top-Line Number... It's
The Bottom-Line Goal

https://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2021/10/05/its_not_the_top-line_number_--_its_the_bottom-line_goal_146509.html

The news from Washington is all about back-room negotiations,
divisions among Democrats, and their failure to reach a spending deal,
so far. It’s an easy story to tell, but the focus on dollars and deals
obscures a larger question: What’s really at stake in these
negotiations?

First, let’s consider the bargaining and betrayals. Those begin with
bipartisan agreement to pass a “roads and highways” bill, which will
cost over $1 trillion. To pass it, President Biden explicitly promised
Senate Republicans and moderate Democrats that the bill would be
considered separately from a larger, more controversial measure to
establish new social-welfare programs.

Within hours, Biden tried to renege on his promise. Furious resistance
from senators forced him to return to his original position, but the
episode left everyone wondering who was in control and whether Biden
could be trusted. Even so, the bill did pass the upper chamber with a
strong bipartisan majority: 19 Republicans, including Minority Leader
Mitch McConnell, joined the 50 Democrats.

Supporters expected the bill to be approved by the House where
Democrats hold a slim majority and some Republicans might vote with
them on infrastructure, as they had in the Senate. But no. Speaker
Nancy Pelosi held up the bill and refused to allow a vote until the
House had first passed the social-welfare legislation. Moderate
Democrats pushed back and, to appease them, she finally agreed to
sever the two bills and allow a vote on roads and bridges first. That
vote, which she promised would take place on Sept. 27, never happened.
The roadblock was the Congressional Progressive Caucus, led by Pramila
Jayapal from Seattle. Faced with their refusal, Pelosi reneged on her
public pledge to moderates.

That’s the impasse, as it currently stands. Joe Biden went to Capitol
Hill, hoping to convince House Democrats to do something — anything.
He failed. The progressives stayed together, holding the
infrastructure bill hostage to their larger goal of more social
spending.

The progressives’ problem is that, even if they get the welfare bill
through the House, they don’t have the votes to pass it in the Senate.
A smaller one, maybe, but not the whole wish list. Democrats Joe
Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have said they won’t vote for the whole
$3.5 trillion package. Those two may have quiet support from a few
other moderate Democrats, who are letting Manchin and Sinema take the
heat.

Progressives say they have already conceded too much.

They wanted to spend more than $6 trillion on the social bill and
“compromised” with the White House for $3.5 trillion. They won’t go
any lower, they insist, but nobody really knows if that’s true.
Manchin, whose deep red-state gave Biden just 29.7% of the vote, has
said he won’t go over $1.5 trillion. This summer, he secretly gave
that number in writing to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who
never shared it with Pelosi. Now that the number is public,
progressives have bitterly rejected it as “far too low” and begun
insulting Manchin and Sinema.

There is obviously a deal to be made on “roads and highways,” but any
agreement on social-welfare spending will have to be close to
Manchin’s number. What’s not clear is whether progressives will
continue to hold both bills hostage until they get what they want.
That’s the heart of the back-room negotiations, which have revealed
deep cleavages among Democrats.

These negotiations, and journalists’ focus on top-line costs, are
obviously crucial, but they are only part of the story. The other part
is what progressives — and the Biden administration — hope to
accomplish and what it would mean for the country. Their goal is not
simply to spend a lot of money in this one bill. Their goal is not to
pay for it, even though they are perfectly happy to “tax the rich.”
These bills are so large that taxes will inevitably fall on the middle
class. They seem utterly indifferent to the prospect of higher
inflation, fueled by more spending and already at its highest levels
in three decades. All those costs are bearable if they advance the
progressives’ central goal: to install a whole series of
cradle-to-grave social programs, including preschool child care, paid
family leave, free college, and so on.

Those programs are extremely difficult to rescind once they’ve begun,
so the goal is to get them started. Progressives know — and the whole
country should understand — that piling on these vast new programs
would be a major step in turning the United States into a
European-style social democracy, along the lines of France, Germany,
Spain, or Italy.

That transformation began under Franklin Roosevelt and vastly expanded
under Lyndon Johnson and
