Re: [DaneBytes] NO TURKEY WHY and major help
Posted by: "Lyn(Ladyartista)Cook" [EMAIL PROTECTED] At T'giving and Xmas, or anytime we have turkey, the kids always get some of it. They've never gotten adverse effects from eating it. Someone once told me something about high sugar content in turkey, but that sounded kinda bogus to me. I would be interested in knowing why it can't be a staple part of their diets. Posted by: Renee Claude Lessard [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks Ruby! But what a "Bisquick"??? Where do we get this??? Happy Holidays Renee Claude Ruby Ricciardi wrote: Posted by: Red Lobster-ish Cheese Garlic Bisquits -- 2 cups Bisquick® Original baking mix 2/3 cup milk ½ cup shredded Cheddar cheese 2 tablespoons margarine or melted butter 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1. Heat oven to 450º 2. Stir baking mix, milk and cheese until soft dough forms. Drop 9 spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. 3. Bake 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. 4. Stir together margarine (or butter) and garlic powder. 5. Brush over warm biscuits ruby note 1: I would use an ice cream scooper to get uniform smaller size biscuits. Dip scooper in milk then scoop batter onto cookie sheet. The milk will help batter to not stick, and it will make a smoother top. ruby note 2: The fine shred cheese does not work as well. I am going to try those itty bitty salad cheese chunks next. Re: [DaneBytes] Macaroons
Posted by: "Jan Hodges" [EMAIL PROTECTED] My mother found this macaroon recipe - It is really easy and they are great (recommend making half a recipe) - 2 14 oz bags flaked coconut 4 teaspoons vanilla 1 14 oz cans sweetened condensed milk Mix in a large bowl. Spoon the mixture by tablespoon onto parchment or waxed paper lined baking sheets about 1 inch apart. Bake at 350 (Deg F) until lightly toasted and golden, about 15 minutes. Leave out, lightly covered with waxed paper, for about 12 hours. I was amazed at how simple this is, and how good they are.
