Re: [darktable-dev] Color Lookup Table Question

heya,

yes, this order of modules is intentional. changing exposure changes
the starting point of the colour transform.. those luts have been
created from well-exposed it8 charts, so heavily under- or overexposed
areas will not have any valid data points. also the colour transform
is non-linear and will do very different things.

and yes, i think in particular the velvia style has strangely lifted
blacks at times. that may need some manual intervention (delete some
data point and insert one near the blacks with a colour picker?), or
some additional calibration with more images than just one it8. would
need to think about how to do that in darktable-chart for generic
images where alignment isn't as simple as with an it8. potentially
it'll be enough to use multiple instances of the same it8 with
different exposure.

cheers,
 jo

[darktable-dev] Color Lookup Table Question

2016-11-13 Thread David Vincent-Jones
I notice that when using the color-lookup-table the exposure module is
places on the pipeline earlier than the table and the manual exposure
'color picker' produces incorrect responses.

I was trying out some of the fuji styles where the style is applied very
early in the pipeline but when the exposure module is used it is
inserted even below the style which creates unusual results; for
instance the black is set to a minimal and incorrect setting.
