I sometimes experiences this on some .NEF files from a Nikon D5200 on Ubuntu 18.04 (happened on previous versions of Ubuntu, like 16.04). I'm not sure about the actual impact on processing. Yes ! that is where I read about this... I could have been searching through the mails for long ! However, since I reinstalled the system from a usb stick (/home on a separate partition), I can't understand how it can be. I tried to upgrade 16.04 to 18.04 once and didn't work well for me (when I put to sleep it would wake but no network) I reverted back to 16.04 (clonezilla). But once I re installed (while on 18.04) the red borders were gone. Thank-you. [darktable-user] Cannot read Nikon Z7 RAW Files
All; I have a new Nikon Z7, I did a few test shots and opened the uploaded images (.NEF files) in darktable, I can see the image previews but when I click on an image to edit it I get this error: failed to read camera white balance information from 'DSC_001.NEF'!
