Re: [darktable-user] filmic vs base curve
Two immediate possibilities come to mind. 1.) Is your white-balance still in the pipeline? 2.) if you are using the 'presets' then preserve-the-chrominance is automatically turned on and this does make quite a difference in overall tone. For myself, I find the output color acceptable. David On 2019-04-08 9:25 p.m., I. Ivanov wrote: Hi Guys, I have tried to use the filmic module. To use the filmic module to its fullest abilities, you must ensure you disable any automatically applied base curve. Something to check. Jack On 2019-04-08 9:25 p.m., I. Re: [darktable-user] Keeping DT in sync between multiple computers
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA256 Just another update on my situation, perhaps it's less than elegant, but when it comes to making money elegance doesn't matter too much. I've no got an alias set up in .bashrc: alias covdt='darktable . --library ./xmp/dtlibrary.db' (My workflow is to create the subfolders ./tiff ./jpg ./xmp when working on a folder of RAW files.) I'll use that to launch darktable, which will store a library file for each folder / project I work on directly in the project folder on the hard drive that I carry between computers. I've tested this, and it does handle the multiple versions I was having issues with perviously. Not the cleanest solution, having library files all over the place, but it will work and I don't need to worry about syncing or corrupting a database if I screw up and open it in two locations at once (if I were to store it on a server). Feel free to continue discussion, seeing what everyone's been coming up with has been interesting and enlightening. Re: [darktable-user] input color profile
Hi, I have found the cause of the issue (For Michiel at least) and filed an issue https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/issues/2357 You should be able to workaround the issue by shortening the name of the icc profile. If this does not work for you then you face a different issue and need to file a separate regression report. Kind regards Dave Am Mi., 3. Re: [darktable-user] Keeping DT in sync between multiple computers
Hi Benjamin, I just wanted to add another possibility: git annex. I use it (successfully) for keeping my RAWs, the XMPs and the db in sync. Either over network or an external USB hard drive. Once it's set up, it's a simple matter of `git annex sync --all` and / or the usual git operations. And you can add additional backup locations easily. Cheers!
